Thinking about those children in Lebanon.....

I attended an extraordinary workshop today, and there is one thing in it I feel it is important to share with everyone who is upset about what is happening to innocent children – innocent anyones, but most especially innocent children and babies – in the middle east.
This was at the UN, and it was a workshop on shamanism, led by Sandra Ingerman.I know this may be off-putting for many, but please bear with me for just a little bit.

One thing she said struck us all very hard: in the shamanic view, to send someone pity is really to bring them down, to weaken them.So when we think of those babies and children and cry for them, we are weakening them.We should be thinking of them as strong and beautiful, and able to deal with what is happening to them, no matter how horrible. No, you say?

Imagine this:10 million people are thinking about you and feeling sorry for you.

Or

10 million people are thinking about you with encouragement in their hearts and respect for you and your incredible strength.

Honestly, which would you prefer?

2. I feel sorry for what they have to endure, how they have to die
that is what I feel sorrow for. If I die in a bombing because of Mr.bush's policies, it is fine if people sorrow my death. I do not pity but feel sorrow.

, so thanks, not a bad idea.

My friend and I have this similar thing we do:
Whenever we're upset about something and we are about to
blurt out, you know, the usual statements, like, "get of my back"
or "you're pissing me off", or "I'm going crazy"...due to the 'ole
self fulfilling prophecy thing, you know "we'll end up with a bad back" or a freakin' Urinary Tract Infection!..we change it to a positive.
We try to "self fulfill" this way: "you're tightening my abs!"
"I'm getting ridding of cellulite this very second", "I'm wrinkle free for
life because of you!!!"....:):silly:

edit: clarity
