I LOVE Stephen Colbert and his show |
|
There, I said it out loud. He brings it every night. He has yet to back down from a topic that needs to be discussed and slays it with ninja-esque perfection.
The WORD is always sharp and to the point.
I think I like it better now than I did when he first had his show. He has grown into a must see event nightly, not just for the humor, but for the thought that it provokes after the cameras are turned off.
So, thank you Stephen. Thank you for "nailing it" every night. YOU are a patriot in every sense of the word. And these days, it takes one to know one.
Stephen, I salute you! :applause:

make me laugh aloud. He slays me.

5. Yes, I especially enjoyed the MSNBC/Laurer thing earlier this week |
|
Robin Williams used to crack me up the way Colbert does.

Brilliant.
I've said it before, but it's relevant here: IMHO, he's the new Mark Twain.

Colbert does a parody show. His O'Reily persona is amazing, I wouldn't have him change a thing. If he did it just wouldn't be the same.

6. but twain just said it |
|
colbert's doing it in a mirror: almost saying the opposite of what the joke is.
the act is so amazing because he never leaves his right-wing asshole persona, and yet skewers their view so thoroughly.

8. I loved the interview on 60 minutes |
|
where he said that he didn't let his kids watch because he didn't know how to explain that he was saying things that he didn't believe on his show. He is so cutting edge I hope when his kids are older they watch the tapes. They will appreciate them too, I think.

they can't respond when all he's doing is parroting their own most extreme views. Brillant.

has his show been steadily improving over the past few months? it seems like after the WH correspondents dinner, his show has more bite to it. Don't get me wrong, I've liked it from the beginning but the humor just seems more sophisticated lately.

I agree completely. He has been sharper and more direct since that dinner. He knows he has our ears and he is speaking loudly now. He has grown into his own and I am loving it.

14. Everyone MUST go see Strangers with Candy-Colbert's movie |
|
It is fucking hilarious (just like his show). Colbert plays a crazy religious science teacher. When you go-keep an eye out for all the funny stuff in the background. I have to see the movie again just to see if I missed anything.
Um, does anyone else have a HUGE crush on Stephen Colbert. I totally go through this stage with outspoken funny liberal dudes.

15. simply one of the best television shows ever |
|
I don't think there's been anything remotely comparable, except maybe the Smothers Brothers.
I loved how the Marvel Comics guy agreed with you that he is a super patriot. He was an awesome guest. And the segment with the DC rep (her name escapes me) was such a hoot.
I agree, I like it even better now than I did when it started.
He da man!

I liked Stephen's comment about guests not bringing props before. The guy was great and I loved his props. The Constitution was well done.
