Ah, America!
Edited on Fri Jul-28-06 06:36 AM by theHandpuppet
So it took George Bush, who admitted in 2005 he knew nothing about the 1965 Voting Rights Act, four years to meet with the Congressional Black Caucus, yet I heard just this morning that all ten finalists of American Idol have been invited to the White House for a meeting with the Chimp-in-Chief. Considering more Americans voted for American Idol than have ever voted in a presidential election, I guess that shouldn't come as a surprise.

God Bless America! :patriot:

1. And shows how out of step I am
I have never watched the program (which I assume is similar to Major Bowe's Amature Hour of the '50s), and only know about it because Randi Rhodes sometimes alludes to it on one of her promos.

I heard this morning on the radio that "Bush is aware of American Idol." Ok, I don't watch much TV at all and I know full well what American Idol is. I would excuse this more if perhaps he were aware of ANYTHING - such as the presence of racism and sexism in this country, or anythying about foreign countries.

EDIT: I don't watch the show either, but it's hard to escape mention of it.

6. That's the claim
But not really the point of the post, just an ironic aside.

screwed up in this country. And watching our President the last couple of weeks
