Crystal Gazing with John Kerry-Kathleen Parker
Edited on Fri Jul-28-06 12:07 PM by raysr
"It takes chutzpah, as they might say in Haifa, to declare that Hezbollah and Israel wouldn't be fighting now if John Kerry were president.

Kerry, who did declare that, apparently has more chutzpah than nuance, as it turns out.

"If I was president, this wouldn't have happened,'' said the Massachusetts senator, during a lunchtime visit to "Honest? John's Bar and No Grill Inc.'' in Detroit while campaigning for Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm. "The president has been so absent on diplomacy when it comes to issues affecting the Middle East. ... We're going to have a lot of ground to make up (in 2008) because of it.'' Because of Bush's focus on Iraq, Kerry said, the president failed to address threats posed by other terrorist organizations."

5. Do they have an accompanying photo?
Mine does. She has the oddest look on her face, head turned as if she's saying derisively "Pffft"

8. I cancelled my local rag when she started appearing - just
the final straw here in Red State Hell. I told the editor but he said she was very popular. I told him she was division, stupid and a neocon. He said that is why she is liked. She railed on Andrea Yates murdering her children, hates all things Clinton with a purple passion and thinks Chucklenuts walks on water. Gag.

3. What a mess of mixed up quotes
I assume suggesting that see actually read Kerry's Iraq and Terrorism speeches in September 2004 - labored major policy speeches by the standard bearer of one of the 2 major parties would have been too much to ask. Kerry had written a whole book on global crime and terrorism in 1997 - before Bush, Cheney or Rice were thinking about it.

4. Big Eddie went off on his comment too
And when someone called him on it yesterday, he started ranting about how he'd carried more water for Kerry than anyone, that Kerry hadn't fought the Smear Vets, that he wanted someone better in 2008, and how Kerry must think he has a crystal ball or something to make such a statement.

Okay, Eddie, fine. You don't want Kerry in 2008. Groovy. You thought he was a lousy candidate. Right then.

But what the hell does that have to do with whether or not we'd be in the current situation if John Kerry was president? You deride him for saying we wouldn't be. So what are you saying? There'd be no difference? The situation would be just a FUBAR under a Kerry presidency?

THEN WHY THE FUCK DID YOU CARRY WATER FOR HIM? WHY DID YOU CAMPAIGN FOR HIS ELECTION? APPARENTLY THERE'S NO FUCKING DIFFERENCE. YOU MIGHT AS WELL HAVE VOTED FOR BUSH!

Is Ed Schultz a closet Naderite or something? What, there's a dime's worth a difference?

I mean all the poor caller did was agree with Kerry, and Ed started ranting. I couldn't believe it.

I hope you don't mind me using your thread to rant back, but it's been bugging me.

9. He's just too much of a centrist for me
He's not bad on other subjects, but if you include Israel, he jumps the shark.

7. Kerry is correct and I just couldn't resist contacting her to let her
know that she is the one who is wrong.

10. In my google alerts, this article keeps coming up over and over
under different headlines.

The most recent one is the most obnoxious so far. "Democrats embarrassed by Kerry's Mideast boasting"

Gee, I'm not embarrassed.
