Minimum wage increase tied to tax cuts for millionaires. Of course it is. |

And you thought the House was gonna do something for the little guy without placating the rich? ~snip~ Republican leaders are willing to allow the first minimum wage increase in a decade but only if it's coupled with a cut in future inheritance taxes on multimillion-dollar estates, congressional aides said Friday. ~snip~ http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/07/28/minimumwage.ap/index.html

3. Yet my Republican congressman didn't think to mention the tie-in |

He suggested that the bill was on the floor to force the Democratic Congresspersons to put up or shut up!

Will they vote Yea and allow the increase or is this only a way to force Dems to vote No or drop the whole thing? I really don't think Repubs will vote for an increase no matter what. They have other ways to save the Billionaires.

7. Pukes are hoping for a win-win |

One way they can say the Dems are pandering while their paymasters are suckled.
The other way they can claim the Dems sold out the working man while conducting class warfare.
They are being too clever by half and the Dems need to loudly declare "Bush**t" on them at every turn. Of course they should vote as a party to raise the MW, after stripping the tax cut from the bill.
If the Pukes figure out how to get the cut attached, they should be made to wear that smelly albatross from now until they slink home in defeat after the elections.

and adjust it when we take back the house....but I'll bet the Republicans won't vote yea, they are just hoping Dems kill it, so they can say, they tried to raise the wage and Dems killed it....
