A deadly week at Del Mar

7 thoroughbreds euthanized since season opened

It happened again yesterday at Del Mar. An injured jockey lying on the racetrack and a thoroughbred limping across the finish line before being taken off to be euthanized.

In the first seven days of Del Mar's racing season, seven horses have died, including one that was fatally injured in a workout.
