I'm too tired to elaborate (I'll invite you to), but a few months ago, I was worried about election fraud because the Republicans, despite all evidence to the contrary, were acting confident of victory.

They don't sound that way anymore.

I'm starting to catch a faint whiff of blood....

2. You should of Saw Hastert today trying not to show fear
"We will win district to District" he said but reports hit him saying you know you are not trusted by the American people in the lastest polls. Hastert refuse to say a word

5. Not to worry. Dems will take the House and carry out all the Repuke
policies. They are falling in line with opposing a cease-fire in Lebanon, and support emergency weapons sending to Israel. Oppose "pre-mature" withdrawal from Iraq. Want only a token increase in the minimum wage. Support free trade that will enable the rich to get richer. Will attack Iran with less graft, and will make sure all corporations have a chance to profit fairly from the carnage.

Not exactly the revolution.

8. Can we have ONE thread that's not about this?
With control of the House, the Democrats will start investigations into Bush's attack on the Constituion. They will start addressing some REAL issues that need to be addressed, such as the minumum wage.

I disagree with Democrats on some issues (including this one), but, jeez, anyone who thinks that there won't be a MAJOR difference in our government should just give up now.

6. The Day of Reckoning approaches. Now, if we could only rid DU of the
many new members who appear to have joined only to keep us arguing with each other about Israel, maybe we could concentrate our efforts on the elections...

12. assumes facts not in evidence?
I have no way of knowing why people join DU in the first place, let alone what their motives are once they are here. Must be
cuz I was never in the skull and bones fraternity :-)

10. When they talk about increasing minimum wages
they are running scared...and doing a little blackmail to get the inheritance tax cut they want.

GOP makes conditions on wage increase

By ANDREW TAYLOR, Associated Press Writer 1 hour, 36 minutes ago

WASHINGTON - Republican leaders are willing to allow the first minimum wage increase in a decade but only if it's coupled with a cut in inheritance taxes on multimillion-dollar estates, lawmakers said Friday.

15. To make fraud plausible, their candidates have to be in the ball game
Most are failing that goal.

Keep writing LTTE. Keep calling radio and C-SPAN. Keep getting the facts out there. Give others resources for finding out what the media doesn't want us to know.

Keep on working to get the truth out and get the point spread big enough that one more theft just won't wash.

21. In the opinion of this Republican...
Edited on Fri Jul-28-06 10:41 PM by Ready4Change
The real Republicans (those of us who never drank the coolaide, or who have shaken off the habit) are afraid that the fix is still in, and we recognize what a disaster it would be for the Neocons to maintain their unquestioned grip on power.

I want Dems to win back at LEAST one of the Houses. Those currently in control of the Republican party need to be politically spanked out of any hope of regaining power. They need to be tarred, feathered, run out on a rail and straight into jail. They should not pass Go. They should not recieve 200 Presidential Pardons.

Hell, what can even he WORST of Democrats do that would be any worse than what has been done over the last 6 years? Run up the Debt? Destroy the USA's reputation abroad? Waste our fine military chasing one false goose after another? Shatter our scientific infrastructure? Corrupt the boundary between Church and State that protects our religious beliefs? Bring dishonor and disgrace to public offices all across the country with scandal after scandal after scandal...?

Dems? See the Sharks? BE the sharks. I'm ringing the bell. It's dinner time.
