Notice to DU’ers concerning their posting tact,

or more specifically lack thereof.

The other day there was a news story posted here concerning a knife attack at a grocery store in Memphis. This was not one of the chain store operations and had an unusual name indicating it might be family owned. The name sounded as if it could be potentially Jewish so I made a post inquiring of anyone in the Memphis area who might know if it was Jewish owned. The reason I made the inquiry is that given the world condition being what it is, it would not surprise me if there is a backlash in this country by some against Jews.

Tonight, I log in to DU and find a posting concerning this story in Seattle about a shooting in a Jewish center there tonight.

This is exactly the kind of thing I had a concern about and why I had made the inquire on the Memphis thread to begin with.

For doing such I was accused by other posters as being everything from an anti-semitic to a troll from Freerepublic. I think the story that is unfolding tonight in Seattle vindicates my question and I will look forward to apologies from the posters here that made such vitriolic accusations against my character and my intent.

However I will not be holding my breath while I wait.

My best friends husband was not allowed to board a flight because he looked Middle Eastern when he is in fact Puertorican!! He was harrased by the police for 45 minutes and had to pay a fee to board another flight to return home. He was even afraid of going outside the house. It was crazy.

15. No, I did a follow up search on it yesterday but did not find anything.

However, I am having a problem with my web browser on the google page. I installed some language packs, one of them being greek, in Office 2000 the other day and now my google page comes up in Greek even though I currently have the language set to english.

I tried to go the the Microsoft support page and it came up in Greek. So for the moment I am kind of screwed.

But I am getting sick of a FEW BAD APPLES making trouble and it being labeled as the actions of EVERYONE ON DU.
