Hillary Clinton, McCain held vodka-drinking contest
OK, it's from Drudge who claims it will be in tomorrow's NYTimes.

On a congressional trip to Estonia, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton astonished her traveling companions by suggesting the group do what one does in the Baltics: hold a vodka-drinking contest!

Delighted, the leader of the overseas delegation, Sen. John McCain, quickly agreed, the NEW YORK TIMES is planning to report on Saturday.

The after-dinner game went so well -- memories are a bit hazy on who drank how much. McCain later told people how unexpectedly fun he found Hillary to be.

"One of the guys," is the way McCain describes her.

I hope this is true - for so many reasons:

8. Oh for God sake! You must be awfully young!
I remember being called one of the guys being the thing I was most proud of when I was busting my a** to prove myself in the workplace back in the 70's! It meant YOU as a femal were finally accepted into the boardroom and you didn't have to hear the damn comments like "I'd tell you what I really thought if there wasn't a woman present!" Ooooh how I hated that!

6. A Vodka drinking contest??
I don't see anything wrong with that. More power to Hillary if she beat McCain.

7. NYT:2008 May Test Clinton’s Bond With McCain
Two summers ago, on a Congressional trip to Estonia, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton astonished her traveling companions by suggesting that the group do what one does in the Baltics: hold a vodka-drinking contest.

Delighted, the leader of the delegation, Senator John McCain, quickly agreed. The after-dinner drinks went so well — memories are a bit hazy on who drank how much — that Mr. McCain, an Arizona Republican, later told people how unexpectedly engaging he found Mrs. Clinton to be. “One of the guys” was the way he described Mrs. Clinton, a New York Democrat, to some Republican colleagues.

Mrs. Clinton and Mr. McCain went on to develop an amiable if professionally calculated relationship. They took more official trips together, including to Iraq. They worked together on the Senate Armed Services Committee and on the issue of global warming. They made a joint appearance last year on “Meet the Press,” interacting so congenially that the moderator, Tim Russert, joked about their forming a “fusion ticket.”

Slow news day. Drudge didn't want to get his jeans dirty dumpster-diving....

10. I like this. Hope it *is* true.
It would humanize Hillary a bit. She can use the upgrade.

So could McCain, as a matter of fact.

15. This actually makes me like them a little bit.
All the puritanism in politics is quite ridiculous. Nothing wrong with drinking to excess occasionally.

Are things so wonderful that the people of this country can sponser drinking contests for its public servents?

At every level of society.

22. Weeiiiird
This is good news though - it's the kind of thing die hards in both parties hate - playing too nice with the other side. It's my hope that this knocks them both out of the running.

BTW you notice how whorish both of then are? They both have seemingly sold their souls for political gain. Both had their children insulted and both are kissing that person's ass. Chelsea was once insulted by McCain in a nasty 'joke' where he said "Janet Reno is her father" and of course it was told that McCain's adopted daughter was an illegitimate love child by Rove and gang.

I don't like them. I don't trust them. Let's hope they'll be drinking even more after losing their party's respective nominations.
