RW Poll #s Keep Dropping; RW Pundits Say "No Policy" Dems Will Still Lose |
|
Edited on Fri Jul-28-06 11:43 PM by stopbush
I heard this on Tweety again tonight and I'm sure it was on every other channel: bush/RW Congressional numbers are bad, people want change...but the Dems have no alternate plan, so the Rs will win in November. And, the always hapless A-list Dems spokespeople who get on these shows fumble and bumble the answer.
What BS! Here's the answer:
"Chris, the fact is that even if we stipulate that the Dems are offering no alternative plan, the FACT is that the American public is so fed up with Bush and the Rs that they are willing to turn the government over to a party 'with no plan' rather than leaving it in the hands of a party that has a disastrous plan."
The Rs have been touting the "Dems have no plan" meme for months, yet bush's numbers go down, down down...and he's dragging his rubber-stamp Congress down with him.
It makes me wonder how many weeks we have left before bush's poll numbers make a miraculous recovery so the MSM can start on their "the country wants to stay with the party that's strong on defense" bullshit.

1. The only policy the Dems need is to undo theirs. |

I understand that some Repubs aren't mentioning their party affiliation in their campaign advertising. Which means that the GOP base just isn't big enough to worry about inflaming anymore.

2. Wrong. The answer is... |
|
..."If you don't know what the Dems' plan is, you're one sorry excuse for a pundit."

3. Wrong. I've heard Ds try versions of that before and the pundit simply |
|
says, "you have too many plans...there's no unity in your party...there's no leadership, and people want a leader."

4. WTF is this "plan" stuff? |
|
Our Dem leaders have a bunch of plans. They have spreadsheets and position papers. They just don't have the guts to take charge of the country! It's like Sun Tzu (and Bruce Lee and undoubtedly millions of others) have said, you win the battle, and then you start to fight the battle ... not the other way around. The Dems need to grab the right frame of mind ... that they clearly are right in their attitudes, their principles, and their assessment of real reality. Then they must win before the election even occurs. That is what a leader does, but we currently are not seeing that.

7. Well, there are at least two kinds of dems in Congress. |
|
The kind who are there to help corporations and the wealthy.
And a handful who are there to try to do the right thing -- support the democracy and the people.
The plan for the first group is to wave the flag, look nice, take all the many checks from the corporate special interests, and tell the people how wonderful everything is.

Republicans -- Handful of patriots. Load of corporate shills. Democrats -- Handful of corporate shills. Load of patriots.
You only have to look at the corporate money flow to see that.

9. Well, gulliver. I was keeping track on January 6, 2005. |
|
There were tens of thousands of people, many from DU, calling, faxing, emailing their Senators to challenge the electors from Ohio, due to the massive irregularities of the election there.
Out of 100 Senators, there was exactly one Democratic presidential candidate -- he was out of the country that day. And, there was exactly ONE Senator, Barbara Boxer, who stood up and challenged the electors.
It does not satisfy me that 1 Senator of 100 represented the people and the democracy, and fair elections.
Sorry, I'm funny that way.
