Dean rendering Wolfie speechless on January 8 http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0601/08/le.01.html

BLITZER: Should Democrats who took money from Jack Abramoff, who has now pleaded guilty to bribery charges, among other charges, a Republican lobbyist in Washington, should the Democrat who took money from him give that money to charity or give it back?

DEAN: There are no Democrats who took money from Jack Abramoff, not one, not one single Democrat. Every person named in this scandal is a Republican. Every person under investigation is a Republican. Every person indicted is a Republican. This is a Republican finance scandal. There is no evidence that Jack Abramoff ever gave any Democrat any money. And we've looked through all of those FEC reports to make sure that's true.

BLITZER: But through various Abramoff-related organizations and outfits, a bunch of Democrats did take money that presumably originated with Jack Abramoff.

DEAN: That's not true either. There's no evidence for that either. There is no evidence...

BLITZER: What about Senator Byron Dorgan?

DEAN: Senator Byron Dorgan and some others took money from Indian tribes. They're not agents of Jack Abramoff. There's no evidence that I've seen that Jack Abramoff directed any contributions to Democrats. I know the Republican National Committee would like to get the Democrats involved in this. They're scared. They should be scared. They haven't told the truth. They have misled the American people. And now it appears they're stealing from Indian tribes. The Democrats are not involved in this.

BLITZER: Unfortunately Mr. Chairman, we got to leave it right there.

Gore's speech on this Criminal Administration on January 16

http://rawstory.com/news/2005/Text_of_Gore_speech_0116.html

Gore rebuts the White House's bizarre charges of hypocrisy and AP actually publishes a story that includes the truth. http://thinkprogress.org/2006/01/17/ap-reports-facts/

Senator Clinton blasts the current administration on January 16
http://www.newsday.com/news/local/wire/newyork/ny-bc-ny--kingday-politics0116jan16,0,5518982.story?coll=ny-region-apnewyork

Sounding a little like a preacher, a fired-up Sen. Hillary Clinton lambasted the Bush administration and the Republican-controlled Congress during a Martin Luther King Jr. Day event, predicting the presidency "will go down in history as one of the worst" and saying the House of Representatives is run like a "plantation" where dissenting voices are squelched....

Senator Kerry responds succinctly in agreement with Al Gore and Hillary Clinton on January 17 http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=364x165795

Senate and House Dems speak on Honest Leadership and Open Government accusing Republicans of unprecedented scale of corruption on January 18 http://www.democrats.org/a/2006/01/the_democratic.php

Quite a ten day period for an opposition party finally in action. Am I missing anything?

3. I've been thinking...
du'ers have been lamenting that the Dems have been quiet and not showing spine. I wonder how much the Bushco surveillance has been forcing them to keep their plans under wraps.
It's hard to plan anything over the phone or by emails when it's all being monitored by the White House.
It does look like they accomplished it though, but it took time.
