Ted Stevens wants to go on The Daily Show to offer rebuttal
Remember Ted Stevens (R - Ya think?) who said on the senate floor that the internet is a series of tubes?

Well, now he wants to go on the Daily Show, which has been mocking him relentlessly, to offer a rebuttal:

Lately, The Daily Show has been having loads of fun mocking Senator Ted Stevens for his Net Neutrality speech, during which he explained that Internet is not a dump truck, but a series of tubes. Word has spread back to Senator Stevens, who's now saying that he's willing to go on TDS to offer a rebuttal. And what is the source of this amazing confidence? "I have a letter from a big scientist who said I was absolutely right in using the word 'tubes'," Senator Stevens said. Please note that the "big scientist" was probably just a fat guy in a lab coat.

1. Uh, that's a big twist on what Stevens actually said...
When pressed whether he was willing to go on the show, Stevens slowly grinned and said: "I'd consider it."

5. He does already! Every time I see him speak on heSen. floor,
I end up laughing at him instead of getting mad.

The one time he threatened to "Quit the Senate if you take my bridge out of the bill!"

The next time I saw him he was complaining about it taking a week to get an email, which i think he called something else! Then he continued on to explain the internet, and his story was soooo stupid, it was FUNNY!

Between laughs, I kept asking "Does't this guy have SOMEONe on his staff who could have actually explained a little bit about the net?????

When Ted Stevens shows off how senile he is, it's seriously laughable!

4. I would love to see
Ed Helms or john Hodgman interview him. Stevens would never see it coming.

Be careful what you wish for!

6. They'de eat that old fool alive
better for teddy to just crawfish away and keep his trap shut, on the other hand though maybe looking the fool on somewhere other than the senate floor is what would be best.

8. It's very sad that Ted hasn't come home to retire...
While I haven't always agreed with him over the years, he used to be a very effective senator for Alaska and has sponsored some good bills -- Magnuson-Stevens for example which has greatly benefited Alaska's fisheries. He has also done much to improve infrastructure for the Natives out in the villages. He and his office were very helpful to me personally back in the early '90s when I had some issues with my newly purchased HUD house which had a leaky roof - he personally intervened for me with the HUD office in DC (it didn't do any good, but at least he tried). It's just sad to watch him doddering around now and making a fool of himself in these ways.

Come home, Ted. I'm sure your grandchildren would love to spend more time with you.
