A question for those of you who watch O'Reilly
Does Tempurpedic still advertise on his shows?

I am replacing a double mattress (no box springs--they won't fit on the old bed) for my guest room for when my parents visit and Tempurpedic mattresses work great for the sleep problems that run in our family. But I won't buy one if they are still supporting that jerk, as they were in 2005.

Please let me know if you have seen a recent Tempurpedic ad on any of his shows.

Thanks.

2. Uh...
...you expect to find a lot of O'Reilly viewers on Democratic Underground? Only way I even know he's still on the air is because he makes Keith Olbermann's "Worst Person in the World" list so often.

3. Fox News Sponsor Information
Edited on Sat Jul-29-06 06:04 PM by rickrok66
Go to skinthefox.com for a list of sponsors. I did not see Tempurepedic, but they may be a subsidiary or another company. I would ask the people who run the website; they can probably help you.

Good luck,

6. There are alot of O'Really fans here
There are several posts per day describing what he said that particular day. There are also dozens of posts about Limpballs, Andy Coulter, InsHannity, and of course Matthews.

4. The only people watching Bill O'Reilly should be
parked in a van across from his house.

5. If you make you purchases based on with who they advertise.
Edited on Sat Jul-29-06 07:41 PM by Poppyseedman
with, I might suggest you rethink that position.

Think about it, if you boycotted every advertiser that spend money on jerks like O'Reilly, you would walk around naked and smell bad.

Buy the things you want to make your life as easy as possible and simply do not watch BOR. That will make a much bigger impact in the long run and your life will be better

8. I think you are missing the point.
I don't watch BOR (hence the question in the OP), so I don't need advice not to watch it. As another poster indicated, a lot of people here watch it for comic relief or other reasons.

There are millions of businesses you and I can choose to do business with. If you want to reinforce those who sponsor liars (or worse), or you don't want to do any research even on a major purchase, it's a free country. But people can influence business by their choices and do it every day.

12. You are missing my point
Life is far too short to get your undies in a bunch over who buys air time on what morons show.

As a matter of fact, I would suggest you sell your T.V.

I did it for a year, probably the best year of my life.

11. thanks--I read about them--reviews said they're just like a
glorified air mattress. I already have one of those that I got for free! So now I have another good reason not to buy a Sleep Number.

13. ORielly turned the one conservative branch of my family
back into thinkers.

You know how he gets wind of a local story that he then takes out of context in the giuse of demonstrating how out of control the country is, and makes a huge deal about it, does a show with experts on it, and costs said community a huge amount of money when public resources are spent having to deal with hundreds or thousands of "outraged" and unhinged callers from around the country?

He did that to the community where this branch of the family lives. Suddenly folks on the religious right whose broad rhetoric had appealed to the family... sounded outrageous, shrill and ... well... looney.

Granted the family was already trying to reconcile the reality of life with the rhetoric of rw talk - and thus experiencing (though trying to push away) cognitive dissonance... a state which to resolve can allow pushing through to greater awareness. And ORielly - and his wacko minions - gave the shove.

Suddenly on a slew of issues the parents and oldest kid (haven't talked to the younger ones) are actually thinking about the issues, rather than ingesting rw rhetoric - and finding the GOP less and less desirable. While not likely to convert to the dem party - some have expressed a desire that votes in the upcoming midterms serve up a wakeup call to congress (esp GOP) because, in their minds, the GOP is no longer listening to many of its voters.

That - is a whole lot of progress.

Thanks Bill ORielly!

14. Tempur-pedic is a sponsor of the Radio Factor
I know this for a fact. If you want to see this for yourself, go to the results of this Google search:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=radio+factor+sponsors&btnG=Search

Then hold your nose and hit the first link that comes up. I could not bring myself to defile DU by actually posting the URL of the actual link.

Google is our friend.
