Israel has continued its bombardment of Lebanon as US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice arrived in the Middle East in a bid to broker an end to the conflict.
In the latest attacks, warplanes struck Lebanon's main crossing point into Syria, closing the passageway.
Fourteen civilians, including a mother and her six children, were killed in the latest wave of Israeli air raids.

I guess they considered these civilians akin to Hizbollah? REMEMBER:"Israeli Justice Minister Haim Ramon “said that in order to prevent casualties among Israeli soldiers battling Hezbollah militants in southern Lebanon,
villages should be flattened by the Israeli air force before ground troops moved in.
He said:
''These places are not villages. They are military bases in which Hezbollah people are hiding and from which they are operating.''However, it is believed that civilians remain in these communities. A Red Cross doctor who visited the town of Bint Jbail before the Israelis advanced on it this week said the majority of residents had fled, but a considerable number were taking cover in schools and other places.

“All those now in south Lebanon are terrorists who are related in some way to Hezbollah,” Mr Ramon said.http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/5219360.stm
