1. I got rid of cable three years ago now... |
|
and haven't missed it a bit.
I don't miss yelling at stupid talking heads spouting cyclical logic, and propaganda straw men.
I don't miss annoying commercials that revel in consumer idiocy.
I don't miss commercials for American Idol, or Survivor.
All in all, it's much better now. I read the news from a variety of sources and have a large movie collection.
I don't feel out of touch. In fact, I think it provides a cleaner perspective because you don't have to filter through all the infotainment.

3. if those who don't want to watch the american coverage of |
|
the conflict in Lebanon, please try to get your news from other sources, like BBC news or any European outlet, you will get a clearer picture of what is happening. We must be aware of what is happening out in South Lebanon, if anyone is watching the news there was a bombing of a 4 story building in Qana, killing 54 civilians and 34 children, this is unnecessary killing of civilians. The Lebanese President asked if the American Public are watching this, apparently some of us are, while others are in complete denial or just (sorry to say this) don't care, because it is not happening to them. Our do nothing government does not seek a ceasefire in this conflict, I am outraged, how much longer are those with blinders on refuse to see what is happening out in Lebanon and Iraq.

5. It is already on all of the Sunday morning political shows |
|
"The Hezbollah held those children hostage, held them in that basement against their will". "Why didn't those people leave the area, they were warned." (never mind that it is being reported that some were disabled.)
It is disgusting and despicable.

6. Will our Democratic politicians justify this also? |
|
It seems Democrats are in the same mold as the PNAC crowd when it comes to Israel. Talk about blind obedience-it's sickening.

9. Probably, some of them suck up to the same lobbyists. |
|
I am very disgusted this morning with just about everyone. Some of both parties suckle from the same lobbyists. They know only what the lobbyists tell them, they have no contact with the American people.
