Donald Rumsfeld responds to Fareed Zakaria |
|
Edited on Sun Jul-30-06 11:47 AM by Blackwell Sucks
Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld responds to Newsweek editor Fareed Zakaria, who referred to Rumsfeld as slightly deranged on ABC's This Week:
"Am I slightly deranged?
Maybe.
Am I a danger to myself and others?
Perhaps.
Do I need to be locked up in a padded room while wearing a straitjacket?
I don't know. The intelligence I have recently received does not allow me to rule out that possibility.
In conclusion, left is right and up is down. Left is down and right is up. Downright to the leftups. One pill makes you larger and one pill makes you small.Go ask Alice when she's ten feet tall. Head on. Apply directly to the forehead. Head on. Apply directly to the forehead. Head on. Apply directly to the forehead. Head on..."

nice job. :-) Tom Friedman approves of Rummy's craziness (this is not a joke) http://www.workingforchange.com/article.cfm?ItemID=12883
<snip>
During an Oct. 13 appearance on CNBC, he said: “I was a critic of (Defense Secretary Donald) Rumsfeld before, but there's one thing ... that I do like about Rumsfeld. He's just a little bit crazy, OK? He's just a little bit crazy, and in this kind of war, they always count on being able to out-crazy us, and I'm glad we got some guy on our bench that our quarterback -- who's just a little bit crazy, not totally, but you never know what that guy's going to do, and I say that's my guy.”

because the one thing our soldiers should be able to count on is a nutcase guiding them. Rumsfeld almost makes Bob Dornan seem grounded by comparison.

and he's around the bend, and down the rabbit hole somewhat, and looking for lost marbles on the Moon.
In response to a harsh follow-up the Secretary was heard by several witnesses to say: Don't mock me my friend. It's a condition of mental divergence. I find myself on the planet Ogo, part of an intellectual elite, preparing to subjugate the barbarian hordes on Pluto. But even though this is a totally convincing reality for me in every way, nevertheless Ogo is actually a construct of my psyche. I am mentally divergent, in that I am escaping certain unnamed realities that plague my life here. When I stop going there, I will be well. Are you also divergent, friend?
