"We are completely on Israel's side..." - Wolf Blitzer
Wolf on a helicopter tour of Israel, speaking with someone from the IDF.

'We are completely on Israel's side, we won't be going into Lebanon'

surely not news to me, but thought it was an interesting choice of purposeful words.

He also gave Herzog (what a despicable creature) a lot of time to explain how 'sorry' the IDF is for killing more civilians, then did a 'shrug and stay fit' hey, shit happens. It's all Hezbollah's fault.

1. What do you think of Nasrallah?
Edited on Sun Jul-30-06 12:43 PM by barb162
Nice guy or something? He started a war by killing and kidnapping another's country's soldier.

9. o please...
that is so unproductive and juvenile.

My yardstick of 'good and/or bad' is civilian body counts.
Either Israel is purposely targeting the defenseless, have really bad American made equipment, have incompetents pushing all the buttons, or have morans in intelligence gathering.

Too many 'mistakes' have been made, wouldn't you agree there is something really strange about this?

3. We need a real liberal news channel
that will give the actual news instead of some idiot trying to make brownie points for the adm. MSNBC is the last one to even choke out an unbiased thought now and then......and it ain't often.

11. Watch Mosiac online
"a selection of news reports...of independant and state controlled broadcasters from throughout the Middle East"

http://www.linktv.org/mosaic/streamsArchive/

You'll get a different perspective than what you are used to if you watch CNN and MSNBC, etc.

What kind of shit is this? A putatively respected news source announces that they are unequivocally biased?

CNN is garbage.

Edited on Sun Jul-30-06 12:49 PM by niceypoo
...except perhaps to attempt to sway US public opinion and the fall election to guarentee Bushes continued rubber stamping of everything they do? There is no logic to it otherwise. Ironically Bush and the rapture cultists ultimate goal is the destruction of Israel and the vaporization of all mankind.....hardly a good ally for Israel. Rapture cult = worlds largest suicide cult.

15. "Rapture cult = worlds largest suicide cult."
You are precisely right. People assume that their consciousness is THE Reality of who and what they are. Many "turn it over to the Lord" and remain completely blind and self-ignorant.

These people are high on death and their assumptions about what "the after-life" is. There is very little Christian dogma describing what we call "heaven".

16. I'm still working on why Iraq was invaded...
but the two surely have to be connected.

American and Israeli war machines will do whatever the hell they please and who is going to stop them and how? No rules. The mad dogs have sprung their leashes and the owners, us poor slobs they supposedly represent, are just as afraid of them as are the victims the rabid animals are pouncing on.

19. Rapture culture bots are pawns of the oil companies
Iran in a war with Israel & US = oil companies get to run pipelines through that part of the world soon. Improves their bottom line by streamlining delivery.

14. I'm torn on my feelings about Israel.
I do believe they have a right to exist, and to defend themselves from attack, BUT....

there has been constant fighting of one kind or another over small pieces of land for YEARS! Without knowing all the details of what has happened over the years, I've NEVER know of a similar situation where there wasn't fault on BOTH SIDES! I'm positive that's the casse here too!

I honestly think it's time for some third party to step in and separate the fighters. Find out the major gripes of each side, or as many sides as there are NOW, and negotiate some settlement. Maybe it will end up being totally separate States and NOBODY can cross another's border! The old "don't look at each other" tactic you use with kids!

I sure don't feel confortable saying "I'm in total support of Israel, or anyone else in the ME. They all seem to be religious hot heads to me!

18. There is is again
What does condemning the attack on Lebanon have to do with "denying Israel's right to exist"?

Of course Israel has a right to exist, and all people must be able to defend themselves from aggression.

23. Because that's one of the reasons being bandied around.
I've heard it quite a few times that Hezbollah is attacking Israel because they want to eliminate them from the face of the earth. I don't know if they ever said that or not, but somebody's saying it!

That's the only reason I included it in expressing my feelings on the mess in the ME.

27. Well, Wolf identified the problem with that statement.
"We are completely on Israel's side.."

I wonder why the majority, the vast majority, of the people of the Middle East don't want us to "give birth" to a "New Middle East".

28. I think Israel would be more willing to work out their differences
with their neighbors, if they were not able to so easily depend on our "complete support" all the time. Also, they would probably find others more willing to comply with UN resolutions, if they did the same. A double standard will never make anyone happy.

I only hope, with this latest catastrophe in Lebanon, and the current catastrophe in Iraq, ALL PEOPLE WITH BOMBS, (terrorists and terrorizing nations), will realize they SOLVE NOTHING!!!!
