Compared to what the US is doing in Iraq, Lebanon is NOTHING.

We have been doing in Iraq for 3 years what the Israelis have done for a few weeks. Lebanon is a drop in the bucket of the the horror and atrocities we commit in Iraq ever day. All of this pontification about the Israeli-Lebanon situation is worthless. Hate Israel all you want, Hate Lebanon all you want.

All of this stuff has been happening in our name in Iraq for the past three years already.

I believe a lot of the hatred to Israeli Policy stems from the fact that we have not admitted, stood up, or truly attacked our own governments SAME policy in Iraq. What we are seeing on the MSM is no different from what they are hiding about Iraq. It sure is easy to attack another country for doing the EXACT SAME THING WE ARE DOING then to admit our own responsibility in this.

We are guiltier then hell. Israel is only showing us a reflection of what monsters we have become. Save you words for the American Government.

1. yep
and this 24/7 msm coverage - dead and wounded people, bombed out villages, the talking heads bobbing with excitement, standing in front of live missile launchers complete with sound effects. holy shit! discussing the morality.

truly the twilight zone, even here at DU.

3. twilight zone indeed
we would never see these images about Iraq, or hear any conversation about America like we do about Israel.

2. Iraqis are doing a great job of killing each other without us
Lebanese thankfully are not currently trying to kill each other in a civil war.

12. "Without us"?
More like "because of us". Take away law and order in the US, and watch how long before Americans are doing the exact same things to each other.

8. "everybody"?
I was pointing out Israel is just following our own lovely American policy. What we are seeing is exactly what we aren't shown about our own aggression. Im not trying to justify anything, but just make it clear this has all been done in OUR name for three years already :eyes:

thanks for turning my post about our own monstrosity into a strawman :hi:

No kidding. It's always easier to criticize what someone else is doing. We can sit back and enjoy the outrage, instead of trying to stop what is being done in our name.

When did we climb through to the other side of the looking glass? I read this morning that more people NOW believe there were WMD in Iraq and that Saddam Hussein was connected to al-Qaeda than in FEBRUARY of 2005! We have a population unwilling to use their powers of reason and observation. That doesn't let our execrable media off the hook for their failure to objectively report world events.

American Idol is finished and Yamin is still on the front page of our fucking daily paper no LESS than once a week!

:grr:
