3. Pinpoint strikes

This has been driving me crazy the last few days. The war talking points memo obviously told all the pro-war spokespeople to go on TV and talk about the Israeli "pinpoint strikes" in an effort to hide the fact that they were really just bombing the hell out of everything. I wish I had a nickel for every time the phrase has been used.

Another well-worn cliche of the war has been "cleaning up" operations, as in "the Israelis need more time to clean up operations in South Lebanon after their pinpoint strikes."

4. Enemy combatant...

...anyone (usually an unlucky civilian) rounded up in a fighting zone and then imprisoned, to whom no rights of any kind need be afforded.
