8. Oddly enough...

I reminded myself of this bit after seeing another thread about "do they have a right to" (in this case it had to do with dog owners) and I was thinking of posting the excerpt about "Loretta" wanting the right to bear children despite being a man. This excerpt was better though, and funnier on more levels given the current situation in the middle east.

I like that line from the TV movie Masada. Peter Strauss plays the leader of the Israelite forces rising up against Roman rule. Some Roman official tells him he doesn't want the Jews to become united and Strauss goes, "If you want to keep us from being united, then leave. We'll be at each other's throats in no time."

You know, it just occurred to me as I was typing this that, in my mind, I'm associating the Palestinians with the Maccabees and the Israelis with the Romans. Funny that. And sad.
