democrats ARE prolife - an example
i live in a very blue place. chicago. it is not perfect, but throughout our history, the rich have been kept in check, which, i think is a THE indicator. elected officials remain aware of their responsibility to the voters, and do not take them for granted.
one example of this is that the lake michigan shore was protected by law after the great fire, required to be "forever open and free". for over 100 years, the people of the city have jealously guarded OUR lakefront.
there are many nice swimming beaches, large and small, as well as marinas where spots are allocated strictly first come, first served. many long, long time leasers in these spots have very humble little boats.
a large chunk of lake front has walking and bike paths, terraced concrete, great places to just sit and enjoy the breeze, or to ride the your bike the length of the city.
these portions have a bit of a shear face, about 3-5 ft, corrugated metal, backed by concrete. the water in these spots is deep, and the waves can make it very dangerous. despite warnings all along those spots to not swim there, people do anyway, and drownings and near drownings result.
so, the prolife dems finally figured out this year that prohibiting swimming does not work, lives are too precious, and they installed ladders about every 20 ft all along these spaces. most stretches have lifeguards now, as well. now the people get to use their lakefront even more freely, and safely.

this is the way dems solve problems. got an example you would like to point to?
