Hey Skinner !!! - I Think I Want To Change My Vote Re: GD vs. I\P Forums

I voted to keep the current ME situation available in GD and other 'big' forums because it was, and still is, the important story geo-politically right now, and apparently for sometime to come.

But...

I believe we are now at the 'spinning wheels goin nowhere' stage, and wonder if this modest proposal might suit DU better. And yeah, I've been a wheel spinner here in GD too.

Why not, because of its stricter guidelines, allow commentary in LBN. The commentary would have to be in response to an initial Breaking Story, thereby limiting the amount of OPs on the same subject.

People who can actually propose solutions of a peaceful nature, and without venom and flame, could be allowed to continue in GD. Again limiting to, or merging with, thoughtful OPs.

And everybody else who wants to post their thoughts on why one-side's killing is more justified than somebody else's killing, would be moved to the I\P forum and let 'em blast away.

We've got the most important election of our lives coming up in 100 days or so, and I think turning our focus back to that goal, is more important, positive, and useful than our current common gripe.

5. There's GD Politics Forum for Political Discussion on the Coming Elections

and State Forums and an Elections Forum. There's good stuff in all those forums but they move really slow because everyone is in GD these days. It's not just I/P posts in GD Forum. There's lots of human interest posts, too.

10. Yes, when things are looking grim for the pro-Israelis cry foul and change

the rules. Divert attention, keep down the discussion that everyone knows will not be allowed to take place in I/P because of the rules set down for that forum. After Qana and the excuses made on behalf of the IDF, nothing surprises me.
