The IDF, Hezbollah, armies or milita do what they are ordered to do. |
|
Now that we might have a ceasefire, I would like to remind people that the IDF as well as Hezbollah and the Insurgency in Iraq and our American troops didn't decide to be where they are, the governments decided a course of action and the troops carry out the orders.
We blame these forces for doing their job, as horrible as it is on all sides. It is a grim service and a reminder to us all how horrible war is and should NEVER be used along with the instruments of war. It should all be banned and illegal.
Would the Hezbollah guy rather blow himself up or sit and watch TV with the kids? Would an IDF soldier rather be at home with the family eating lunch or driving a tank and destroying homes and lives of Lebanese citizens? If you say yes to the violence, then your crazy.
American troops don't want to be in Iraq, I have a buddy heading back over there soon for his 3rd tour, he wants to be at home with his newborn son. They are all pawns that the government uses when we fail to come to peaceful terms with fellow nations.
Give the 'working soldier/insurgent/guerrilla' a break, please. Let this ceasefire work and spread throughout the region. Please.

1. I'm sorry, Hezbollah and militia of all kinds don't conscript. |
|
Members are volunteers. Basic stuff.
The IDF and numerous armies do conscript.

2. Someone has to do it is the point. Most countries have a standing |

army or rely on another country that does have one. My point is that I can't believe a foot soldier would rather be in harms way and not at home trying to enjoy life with family and friends. Do they have the right to make a choice in the matter? No. They do a horrible job for the supposed 'greater good' and if that means killing people they never met than so be it.

3. Just because it's true in general doesn't mean it is in all cases. |
|
The exceptions should be dealt with... not little kids slain in their place, IMHO.

4. In some places kids are fighting as hard and heavy as the adults. |
|
Yes, there are always exceptions to the rules. I just wish we could give 'war' a break. I know the 'average fighting joe' would be happy.
