Edited on Sun Jul-30-06 07:03 PM by DeepModem Mom
NBC6: Waco Police arrest Secret Service agent

....Police say there were reports that in the early morning hours of July 21, 30-year-old John Scott Lewis was being rude to some customers at Cricket's Bar and Grill.

Lewis is a special agent with the US Secret Service and is from Crofton, Maryland.

The report and Police say Lewis got into an argument with the manager and when the manager asked him to leave, Lewis pushed open the front door so hard it cracked.

Two off-duty Waco officers working security tried to arrest Lewis; he resisted, and was tasered one time.

Lewis was charged with Public Intoxication, Reckless Damage, and Resisting Arrest.

He was treated and released at Hillcrest Hospital and then was booked into the McLennan County Jail.

Lewis posted a 1,000 dollar bond....

2. I have no idea what happened there, but I know this agent.
I really believe there's a lot more to this story.

5. All I'm going to say is that Scott was my neighbor, and I've known
hin since he was about 10 years old. I watched him grow up, graduate from HS and college, and join the SS. He's a good guy. I'm not going to say he doesn't have a temper, because we all do, but he's always been a very controlled person, so there's something much more to this story that what we read.

7. More info from Waco paper
When Lewis refused, employees at Cricket's called two Waco police officers who were working off-duty security for River Square Center, where the bar is located. When the officers arrived, they saw Lewis trying to provoke the manager into a fight, Waco police spokesman Sgt. Ryan Holt said.

Lewis began to leave the bar, but as he passed through the front entrance, he pushed one of the doors so hard that the frame cracked, Holt said.

The officers then moved to arrest Lewis. One officer was able to get him down on his knees, the affidavit says, but Lewis kept fighting and ignoring verbal commands. As a result, an officer used his Taser stun gun to subdue him.

Lewis was taken to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center for a small cut on his forehead and a scratch on his nose, Holt said. After being treated, he was booked into the McLennan County Jail on three charges — public intoxication, resisting arrest and reckless damage to property. He was released after posting a $1,000 bail.

Resisting arrest is a Class A misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail, a fine of up to $4,000 or both. Public intoxication and reckless destruction of property are Class C misdemeanors punishable by a fine of up to $500.

One of the officers involved in the struggle suffered minor cuts to his hands, Holt said. There were no other injuries.
