WTF? 24-48 hours to vacate your own country and just hand it over
to terrorists? Would anyone in the US stand for this? If this is the case, Israel can threaten to bomb the beegeezus out of any nation and order them to evacuate and then just walk in and take over? Why is the entire world standing by and allowing this to happen to Lebanon...a beautiful people with a once beautiful country, the gem of the ME?

if we think you are transporting terrorists, or getting prepared to fight later we will still bomb you now, defending ourselves. Have a nice day.

7. There is little fuel left but most don't have cars. Taxis are charging
high fees to drive people out because it is so dangerous.

The world should have stopped this terrorism 19 days ago.

4. Well, now there will be a Hezbollah/IDF fight.
Isn't that what you all wanted? No citizens killed? The citizens will now be safe and Hezbollah and the IDF can shoot at each other. Hopefully, no more inncocent people will die.

Terrorists = Hezbollah.

5. trying to do the right thing
israel is trying to do the right thing. their country was attacked by terrorists (hizbollah) who took 2 soldiers captive, who are probably dead now. each day hundreds of rockets land in israel from hizbollah who hide cowardly among civilians. israel is trying to do the right by warning away civilians and get the cowardly terrorists and destroy them once and for all.

17. What about it?
The more I read of what you write the less and less I understand what must go on in your head.

And btw, the killing of innocent civilians on all sides during WWII was WRONG.

11. Good strategy, hiding among the civilians
Maybe they'll LEAVE the country along with the civilians, too. Look how well it worked for the Viet Cong and Iraqi insurgents.

23. It's right up there
with trying to kill all the mosquitoes or roaches. You might get rid of one batch but 5 more batches will be born in the process.

37. The key word is 'control'
You might be able to 'control' something like mosquitoes or a group of people, but you can never get rid of them entirely. The only thing that will happen is that more will pop up somewhere else.

BTW: We may have gotten rid of malaria in this country but instead we have West Nile virus and equine encephalitis and if you haven't noticed, we still have plenty of mosquitoes.

39. Do what Dems called for in 2004...reduce terrorism to a "nuisance".
...and the way to start that process is this (IMO):

1) Have Israel pull back to 1967 borders

2) Have both Israel and the U.S. offer economic incentives to Lebanon that will rebuild their infrastructure and allow for the possibility of some degree of prosperity

...and that's a minimalist view. It may take much more than that. However, that'd be a good place to start.

38. Well I heard a Lebanese
Minister of government on BBC International saying his government will not be telling his citizens to leave their homes and if they are killed by Israel that will merely add to their war crimes.

Can you imagine the dislocation of nearly a million refugees? Good fugging grief.

30. It was for an exchange of prisoners
Which Israel has done in the past. This time they said if they traded prisoners then "kidnappings" would continue. This is my sticking point with the vehement pro-Israel people. They claim Israel has done everything they could to avoid the conflict and protect civilians but a simple prisoner exchange could have stopped all this... This latest escalation has nothing to do with the 2 kidnapped soldiers. I feel bad for the Israeli and Lebanese citizens caught in the middle of the puppet masters.

18. I saw on LinkTV where that happened to the natives at Diego Garcia.
The British just rounded them up and moved them to a new island. UK and USA are waiting until they just die off and then the problem goes away. That was a sad show.

34. that was a duty station option when I was in the navy in the '80s.
I had never heard of it before I joined the navy. Nobody wanted to get stationed there, it was considered isolated duty. Recently is the first I have heard of what you speak of.
