The NeoCon Miscalculation |
|
Edited on Mon Jul-31-06 01:23 AM by Magical
Every action has an equal and opposite reaction.
The idea that one nation can rule the world is steeped in miscalculation and hubris.
Empires fray at the perimeter and bankrupt themselves.
The moral rot of killing and oppression becomes self consuming.
You will never own the hearts and minds of all humanity.
In fact the enmity you are creating is making this nation a pariah on the world stage.
You may be able to bully every smaller individual in the schoolyard...
But when they realize their COLLECTIVE power and UNITE, the jig is up.
UNITERs INDEED !

2. Those of us who studied history and gov't learned 'encirclement' |
|
smaller states encircled the dominant state economically (note how much our gov owes China and the rest of the world, f'rinstance)
militarily, simply by standing apart (note how many military powers stood apart from our invasion of Iraq, and now stand apart from our proxy war through Israel in the ME)
and both bring up overextension of the dominant state (more recently Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan come to mind)
but more important than encirclement and overextension, was the moral rot from within the dominant state ... Rome comes to mind for openers, then the arms lobbies of Nazi Germany (Krupp) and Imperial Japan (Mitsubishi and others)
you get the picture

6. I think China has expanded |
|
the notion of encirclement with the encouragement of the US. The factories that manufacture our goods are now located in China. The manufacture of some very necessary products are now controlled by China. Would we bomb the factories that make our light bulbs, electronic test equipment, electronic goods etc? I would love to see an analysis of goods made there and see if we have turned over total control of some necessary goods.
America went looking for the cheapest price and gave it all away.
Thanks for your post - I learned from it.

The vote in support of the Lebanon operation was 100-0 in the Senate...and Like 427-8 in the House.
The only people who would listen, like Kucinich, already know it... the rest are owned by AIPAC etc. which is why we are in DEEP SHIT.
