Poll question: All is fair in love and war
I have always agreed with this statement. I view war as a state of imbalance, essentially, war is crime. With crime, anything goes. Peace in the Middle East; cause a political solution is the only solution.

All is fair in love and war. Agree?

1. This maxim is used as justification for dirty fighting tactics. And it
reminds me of the first rule of divorce law: There are no rules.

Even in prizefighting there are the Marquis of Queensbury Rules, in political debate Roberts' Rules of Order, etc. I don't agree with anarchy during heated passions.

4. Not Necessarily

I believe it's more a reference to the truth that in such states, all reason goes out the window. Furthermore, when you consider the Darwinian implications of love, both can be called battles for human survival.

That said, I don't consider what's going on in Lebanon right now as war. If it were, Israel would be attacking Lebanon's gov't seat, and ALL outside parties would stand back until the kids were ready to settle.

5. Like the woman who drowned her kids for "love".
I can't remember her name, but she drove her car into a lake with her kids inside, because her lover didn't want kids.

"I did it because I had to."

"We received fire from the village of My lai"

"We are protecting Europe from Jewish Bolshevism."

"I killed her because I love her."

"All's fair in love and war."
