While man flails away with his big war toys killing and destroying because of some false idea in his 'intelligent' mammalian brain that he will 'gain' something or 'win' and get 'more' of the 'stuff' he 'wants', the very battleground on which the war is being fought, the precious, life-sustaining, little jewel, GAIA, in the vast darkness of space is warming, melting under his feet, and saying I'm gonna get a fever and rid myself of this plague.

The glaciers are melting, the rivers are drying, the crops are failing, the Sun is blazing, the sea is acidifying and rising, the winds are blowing, the children are crying, and what is man doing, but killing.

As if in a final cathartic rage over his failure to master nature, he destroys himself and the life support system of his home, thinking, thinking, thinking, there must be something more, more money, more power, more toys, but NO, there is NOTHING more, this is it, the incredible beauty, wonder, and innocence of the children, the vast diversity of flora and fauna, the immeasurable vastness of the universe, he had it all, but couldn't see, it was right there in front of him in the here and now, love, appreciation, sharing, beauty, joy, and wonder...just couldn't see it, because he wanted more, more, more.

He just couldn't say I'm sorry for the hurt I caused you, he couldn't see he 'had' nothing, it was all temporary, he couldn't see he only kept what he gave away, and lost what he coveted, he wanted tommorrow, but tomorrow never came, until no more tomorrows ever came, and the children cried and asked why, we can see what you are missing, we do not distinguish each other by race, why can't you play anymore, why can't you laugh anymore, why do you want more when you have all you need, why can't you FEEL, when did you learn to not cry, and how can you kill us, we are the future, the hope, the gods, what you must become, please do not kill us.

But the warplanes thundered and bombs fell and the hope died and man blamed the children and took a short time out to scheme more killing and congratulated himself on his discipline and courage, while the children were buried in mass graves and man lied to himself as though he could actually believe his own lies and excuse his murderous actions in killing the only god there ever was...the children.

2. Humans are a virus.........

they're replicating at an alarming rate and eventually will kill their host......the earth. If you couldn't tell, I have a rather dismal view of the human race at this point in time. But I have seen nothing (save the odd human interest story of someone actually doing some GOOD in our society) that can persuade me to think otherwise. Everything is completely out of control and there is every reason to worry. We are our own worst enemy.

3. I thought the US and other industrial countries were seeing

a slow down in population, and the scare was that who was going to support the elderly via taxes? Or is it just the underdeveloped counties that are picking up population growth?
