They're baaaaacccckkk!!!
Right on schedule! During the weekend, I saw the ultimate fear commercial that ran during the 2004 campaign. You know the one...an adorable child is looking at the camera, innocent and vulnerable. The voice over begins: "What would you do in the event of a terrorist attack?" It ends with "Have a plan."

1. A cold shiver of fear went through me just reading that!
:sarcasm:

Yes, it will be amazing the number of things we will have to fear by November. There will be no discussion of anything of import. Such as why after the north east blackout a few years ago & talk galore of upgrading our power grid are people in NY without power for over a week? Why aren't our hospitals prepared should a bio-attack take place? Why did our government sell out the security of our ports to a foreign entity? However, I'm certain we will have at least a week long story of bird flu scare.

The foolishness of those in charge, including our complicit congress, is mind boggling.

6. Wish I could find the commercial
I've googled but no such luck! I absolutely agree.

BTW, I could be wrong but it was showing on TLC. Only seen it once...so far.

7. Yes, it's just like the daisy commercial.
Same emotional pull. I couldn't catch the small print at the bottom to see which office was taking credit.

8. Especially if they increase the spots on this ad.
It's puzzling to me that I hear all kinds of complaints about "my tax dollars!", but don't hear criticism about the tax dollars spent in marketing. Sponsorship of NASCAR and TV/Radio spots don't come cheap!

12. I am ambivalent about this
Living in hurricane country I am constantly amazed at how unprepared people are. Even with the local media's push every year during the season for people to get ready, there invariably are people hours after a hurricane has passed on tv bitching that the govt is not already there with ice and water.

A good push towards a little self reliance in case of a natural disaster is a good thing but playing on fears of a terrorist attack is appalling.
Forgive my run on sentences... I am seriously sleep deprived this morning.

13. It's simple for them now
Another epic attack on US soil before November blamed on Syria and or Iran over Bushco's backing of Israel in their campaign against evil. Bush and Blair rush off to bomb Syria/Iran before everyone's heads stop spinning long enough to ask questions. Maybe even the long dreaded suspension of the election and declaration of martial law.

Something's coming before that election anyway. They probably can't steal it this time and make it look tight. Anyone see these guys letting the Democrats take over Congress without a fight to the death?

14. "What would you do in the event of a terrorist attack?" Vote out the
idiots who let it happen on their watch twice.

Now THAT would be a good ad for the Dems in the midterms.
