For the good of the world, Iran should link their halting of nuclear |

activities to Israeli inspections of their nuclear activities and to the US doing the same. The only nation so far in history to have dropped a nuke on civilians has been the US. The wanton disregard for human life being exhibited by Israel in Lebanon indicates to me that they could easily be the next "democracy" to do the same, were it not for the fact that their "smart bombs" and our F-16s are killing and destroying just short of a nuclear strike, they may already have done this, especially since so many of the callers into CSPAN have encouraged Israel to "kill them all."

has often showed such deep respect for life. Does anyone even remember the Iran Iraq war?
frankly, I don't really care that much about Iran getting the bomb. That box was opened wide long ago, but Iran as a paragon of human rights is a little too much for me.

If memory serves, didn't we support Iraq, and show the deep respect for life that the US is so famous for?
We provided our once and future ally with intelligence and equipment, and the US even tried to cover Saddam's ass when he dropped chemical weapons on the Kurds, by blaming the Iranians.
Iran is far from a paragon of human rights, but then it's the US that runs "Rendition Airways" and the Guantanamo Hilton, we're not as bad as the Iranians, but BushCo seems to be trying real hard to take the lead.

here, simply noting that Iran has its own history of violating human rights and committing atrocities.

our puppet, they became a terrorist nation. Until then, we all loved the people of Iran especially since they were not Arabs but Persians. Ignorance in this country (US) is really bliss.

in Tehran with two small children waiting for incoming every god damned night for years on end. All provided to Saddam Hussein by our very own government. And might I add, this occurred during a time when sanctions were in place and much was scarce.
BTW, there is no nation in the world who is a paragon when it comes to human rights violations--even our own exalted selves. We are supreme hypocrites, however.

You mean the one started by Saddam Hussein when he invaded Iraq? The one where Iranians were killed with nerve gas purchased from the United States?
No. I don't remember anything about that.
