Under the radar: OKC co-conspirator to be released from prison Friday
I'm sorry.
He should have received a life sentence.

Mr. Fortier, 37, and his family are expected to go into the federal witness protection program.

The Fortiers acknowledged helping Mr. McVeigh and Mr. Nichols with the plot, said Mr. McVeigh's attorney, Stephen Jones of Enid.

"It's intellectually indefensible to say that they weren't conspirators, because they were. Their own testimony indicates that," Mr. Jones said. "They knew the date, time and place of the bombing, and both of them assisted materially."

He said Ms. Fortier testified that she helped make a false identification card that Mr. McVeigh used to rent the truck used in the bombing. She was granted complete immunity for her testimony and never served any prison time.

1. Why Do You Say "Under The Radar"?
I heard this on the news this a.m.

I guess he made his deal to prosecute McVeigh and Nichols and this is his reward

3. Well, I didn't hear about it, until now.
Then again, religious radio has blocked the local NPR channel, and I don't have cable, and Gannett news provides the pathetic local paper...so DU is my news source these days ...

Well, I'm glad he provided evidence against McVeigh, anyway.

6. So they're releasing terrorists now.
What exactly is the difference between this guy and someone who aided al-Quaeda in carrying out the 9/11 attacks?

9. What kind of message does this send to the terrorists?
Or does it not matter as long as the terrorist is white and votes Republican? Surely this sort of thing is demoralizing to our soldiers who are dying in the War on Terror.
