Weather Report - 78 degrees now in South Mississippi
Getting our daily afternoon rain from the gulf coast right now. Soon it will be back in the mid 90's (both temperature and humidity.)
We've gotten about five inches of rain the past two weeks.

2. See? I was there over the weekend, and my coolness brought the temp down.

3. Rubbing it in?
LOL, I would love just an inch of that rain, we are down about 13 I think. Triple digits but thankfully our humidity is low today. I don't know how you stand the heat when it is as humid as it gets where you are. I was in Houston once when it was 20 degrees cooler than it was here and still I could barely stand it.

Enjoy the rain. After last year I wish nothing but perfect weather for those of you on the gulf coast.

6. Not really
We are back to a rather "normal" weather cycle here on the gulf coast. A few afternoon showers to cool things off and make the grass grow real fast. But morning and early evenings are stifling. I am acclimated to the humidity. We went to Phoenix a couple years back in the month of November and I was crushed by the heat and lack of humidity. I guess it was like putting a frying pan on the stove with no oil in the pot. I'm worried about my mother in law in Kansas but she is taking care of herself in the heat. The lack of water in Kansas is the real danger. I'd love to bundle up a nice long soaking gulf rain shower up your way. And your thoughts are very kind. A hurricane is always lurking in the back of my mind. But so far so good. This time last year we had had two hurricanes and one tropical storm by now and Katrina was just a few weeks away from being a blip on the radar.

We have a lot less meat in the freezer and all the free space is filled with bottled water to prolong the cooling process if we lose electricity. Stay Cool Muserider.

9. You are such a nice guy!
Truly, one of my very favorite DUers.

I am outside lots of the day so I am pretty acclimated to it although it is pretty awful right now. I am glad your MIL is taking care of herself. It is much harder the older you get.

I am getting worried about fire. Rescuing horses in a fire is no fun and until my house is finished I will be 15 minutes away in case it happens. Lots of open prairie to burn around here.

8. Thanks teammate
We are staying on our toes. Tracking the weather has evolved from a hobby to a life and death matter. Between monitoring our bank accounts for identity theft and checking out the tropical forecasts, not to mention DU, I spend a lot of time with my slow dial up.

12. 81 in Jackson MS, Heat Index of 85
Which, amazingly, feels pretty doggone pleasant! We just had a good rain and it cooled things down and cleared the air.

And gave my lawn some needed water!

14. Hello teammate
Here in Pearl River County we have to be pushing 10 inches of rain in the month of July. I mowed my lawn last thursday and I should have mowed it again today, but what the hell, one day of laziness. I'll get it tomorrow.

21. We've had a good bit of rain the last couple of weeks
But for the month before that it was dry as a desert. I hardly had to mow the dust ... so I'm not complaining now that it's green again!

28. You can always find a house
and I think the job market is not bad right now either. What do you do for a living? (Or was your question rhetorical?)

I remember Ohio summers from my childhood, and my guess is this one is much worse. You must be sweltering.

15. It is 95 and unbearable humidity on the Tennessee River at Wheeler Dam.
It had just clouded up and I was sure it would storm: it didn't. It did rain on Friday and Saturday and I had forgotten what it felt like to sleep with the A/C off and the windows open! But the bloody frogs in the fountain and the crickets drove me crazy! I actually wore long pants and socks and shoes for the first time since April on Saturday! Back to flip flops and shorts on Sunday... The kids start back to school in Huntsville next week...hope the A/C is working in all the schools!

16. Hang in there teammate
I've worn long pants twice this year and both times it was to attend the funerals of good friends of ours. I'm looking forward to cracking the windows open but that probably won't happen before October.
