I wrote a book.
It is " On a Wing and a Prayer".

And in truth, it has to do with doing the right thing, when you think you will lose. And it has to do with learning from things your parents and grandparents had to learn - and tried to teach us, the hard way.

Oh, I know the publisher is going to screw me - I knew it all along - and I don't care. Been screwed by too many to count, at this point.

Shit, if the book does make any money I am going to do what I think is right, anyway. I never cared about that.

But, I know it is important. Some things have to be said. Lessons passed down are paid with such a heavy price.

It is sad to me, some of us did not have such "parents" to teach us such lessons. And yet, so many of you young people are still here - makes me proud. And I know you make them proud.

And I also know, at end of the day, that is exactly why we are going to win this fight.

Anyway, six years later, I published a book. Coming out now.

Joe

There are just too many of us to lose.

3. That you!!
I know it is or is about to be sold on Amazon, Borders and Barnes - cause that was the only thing I knew to negotiate, but frankly - I do intend to calculate where it is cheapest and screw them back.

Payback can be a bitch. And I am an accountant.

I believe this is the release -

30179 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Understanding Our Heritage and World War II
New Book tells real stories of fighter pilot and nurse who stayed together during war

Woodland Hills, CA – (Release Date TBD) – Tales about World War II will always be an important legacy left by survivors to their children. Stories about the war are messages of warning to future generations that may never know what the conflict was all about and how it affected their ancestors who witnessed it. In the new book On A Wing and a Prayer: Memories of a Fighter Pilot and Nurse in WWII, author FMJ Pacheco shares with readers the heartwarming true stories of his parents that will inspire them to embrace their heritage.

On A Wing and a Prayer tells in detail the life of a fighter pilot and a nurse in the European Theater of Operations. Throughout the love story, readers will feel not only the historical significance of the book but also its moral lessons and portrayal of humanity. Readers will witness the conflict between duty and morality, analyze what do they have inside themselves and ultimately they will get a chance to hear these parents speak of those hard days. The love story between the pilot and the nurse is crafted with so much drama and intimacy, any reader will come to feel as if it is his or her own parents or older relatives telling their own war stories.

Because of its rich storytelling and autobiographical account, American history students and people interested in connections to heritage will find On A Wing and a Prayer a highly attractive and educational book to read. For the families of U.S. military personnel serving in Iraq, Afghanistan and around the world the book adds depth to the collections of wartimes stories told through the views of evac nurses and fighter pilots. The book expresses the authors’ belief that unless one has an understanding of the individuals involved on some intimate level and look beneath the surface of history people will fail to grasp the significance of the things that happen in such a thing as war. On A Wing and a Prayer: Memories of a Fighter Pilot and Nurse in WWII will no doubt touch the hearts of all readers and help the new generation learn the lessons paid for in blood.

About the Authors’
F Pacheco was a fighter pilot in the 12th Tactical Air Command, ETO and remained a fighter pilot until 1961. M Pacheco was a nurse serving in the 81st Hospital Train Unit, ETO. The stories were compiled by J Pacheco, a graduate of the University of Redlands and life long student of American history.

e PR going out now, as below.

Did this work??

I think it is good, but then I wrote it - and I think it is fun to read books of such nature.
I think that goes out tomorrow - but I also know what assholes these publishers really are.

Best,

Joe

6. THAT YOU!!
And as a card carrying member of the WWII foundation (Number 7461564) which one could use to access the site (please feel free to use my number) I know two things are true:

They fought to protect their children - and we are their children.

And second - You screw with the principle's of FDR - and those will be fighting words.

I have heard fighting words since 2000. One has to imagine what his father was thinking in 44 or 45 - WHICH SIDE WAS WAS he ON!!

I grew up with fighter pilots - which side was his kid on, it is a real question - assuming the kid was ever a fighter pilot to begin with???

I don't think so. It is in the eyes, I think - he never had that.

And God know he never will.

4. "Lessons passed down are paid with such a heavy price."
Those of us fortunate to have the kind of parents willing and able to make the sacrifices to gain that precious knowlege would be wise to listen well.

7. I am sorry I can't type- no doubt giving these assholes
the ability to screw up the release of six years work.

But I know MANY of us had that opportunity, to have parents that so well understood the stakes.

I know - I see you here today. And I am so proud to be one of you.

Maybe we learned. Maybe some of our offspring learned.

In my mind, to this day, I can hear some of those "warstories" and I so understand the true cost of war - and I think - how do these people not understand?? What don't they get??

Lessons were paid in blood back then - and we will not pay the same. Our dues were paid in full.

We grew up.

The day this SOB wins, my parents roll over in their graves - and so do yours.

The day he wins - we die. The day he wins, our kids die, too.

This guy really is a pretender - it is not in his soul to be so brave as a fighter pilot. I am so sure.

It is not in him - look at the eyes - it is not there. Empty eyes.

15. geez, make a gal feel bad for where she works, eh?
I work for a publisher - we certainly don't try to screw our authors.

I hope your words are for your publisher in particular, not the industry in general.

Good luck with the book - I hope you have high sales.
