Question about Party Change

I changed from Independent to Democrat awhile back... (I know beyond a doubt I will NEVER be a republican!!). I sent the form in, and that was that. Should I have gotten a confirmation or anything, or can I safely assume it's been changed? I don't want to find out at the wrong time that they don't have me down as a Dem.

We have voter id cards here and mine says "Party Affiliation: Dem" but that's because we have closed primaries.

3. I keep getting propoganda and phone calls from the Rethugs.

I have never registered or voted as a rethuglican in my life. Why am I getting this shit?

I remember on election day I got this phone call; "Hello, this is so and so from the Republican Party and we would like to remind you..."

Me: "Wow...did you call the wrong house!"

Rethug: "Really? Why?"

Me: "Because there is no one in this house who would ever vote republican. How did you get my...?"
