Response from congresswomen regarding request for impeachment.
Thank you for expressing your opinion of President George W. Bush. I appreciate the opportunity to respond to your concerns.

From Congresswoman Ginny Brown-Waite:

As you may know, the United States Constitution sets forth the general principles that control the impeachment process. The power to impeach is vested in the House of Representatives, while the Senate has the power to try impeachments. Impeachment proceedings in the House may proceed if a Member declares a charge of impeachment or introduces a memorial listing of the charges under oath.

A President may be removed from office upon impeachment for, and conviction of, treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors. To this date, no Member has initiated impeachment proceedings. This is likely because the President is not under any criminal investigation and has not been charged with a crime.

I respect your views on the Iraq War; however the reasons behind the war in Iraq were fully explored in the 2004 election. The American people chose to return President Bush to office with a historic number of votes cast and clearly decided that the liberation of Iraq was proper.

I thank you for your input on this matter.

1. Time to vote her out!
She does not speak truth:

"however the reasons behind the war in Iraq were fully explored in the 2004 election. The American people chose to return President Bush to office with a historic number of votes cast and clearly decided that the liberation of Iraq was proper."

Lies, lies, and damn lies.

3. Let me ask this...
How would the executive branch's prosecutors investigate their boss for crimes and charge their boss with a crime?

They wouldn't! There's a lot of doubt it's even constitutional. It sure as hell wouldn't last beyond the President ordering charges to be dropped against himself, which he is entirely within his rights to do.

The only investigating that could be done would be by Congress, save that which Bush allows in an effort to hold off political consequences of thwarting it through raw constitutional force. The only charges that could be laid are by Congress. Such charges are, not coincidentally, known as "articles of impeachment" and carry no penalty beyond removal from office.

6. Obviously a Repub
"historic number of votes..." "liberation of Iraq..." yadda yadda yadda.
Kerry also got a historic number of votes. The war was supposedly about WMD, not "the liberation of Iraq". What bullshit. :grr:

8. Ginny is pathetic
I go to all of her town hall meetings.

BUT, I have the antidote.

I'm John's regional campaign manager, and we're looking for money and volunteers. We've put together an organization that can beat her in November, and we welcome all the help we can get.

10. If you want to help get rid of her PM me.
Even passing out a few signature cards to your neighbors will help. We'll be hitting areas of Hernando the next few days, but we have groups in most parts of the district.

15. She's a disgusting reichbot ... real septic tank scum.
Edited on Thu Jan-19-06 12:55 AM by TahitiNut
She's pimped for the looting of the Social Security trust fund ... and still pimps for it.

She's rated ZERO by NARAL, 87% by the corporate lobby, 17% by NEA, 5% by the conservationists, 100% by the Christian Coalition, high by the Health Care Profiteers, 7% by the AFL-CIO, and 20% by the ARA. Total septic tank scum.

On top of it, Ginny Brown-Waite has taken $20,000 from Tom DeLay's ARMPAC. She wallows in payola.

12. I think you reached too far
Right now we need to ask our representatives to support house resolution 635 which will investigate his crimes. Screaming for impeachment is putting the cart in front of the horse. Investigate then impeach. With that said Oust the repukes.

13. Time to impeach HER butt. .
If that was my congressperson, I would be very tempted to write back a polite letter...asking if there is any possibility that, as a congressperson, she might consider serving the people of her country instead of the talking points of her party.

Then I would cite every public opinion poll taken this year which clearly indicates a lack of support for continuing this war and ask her why she seems to be so disinterested in the opinions of the American people.

14. With Ginny Brown-Waite it wouldn't do any good
She's a rude, arrogant bitch. Get's very testy whenever someone asks a question she doesn't like. We have her on videotape verbally abusing a constituent. We tape all of her meetings and appearances. Our cameraman followed her out of a meeting a couple of months ago, and she didn't realize that the camera was still rolling, and she yelled at the guy, who asked her a question she didn't like, "Why don't you go home and take a bath? You were stinking up the whole room in there"!

Sounds like a campaign commercial to me. Also she's known to make some racist comments, and we're filming those also.

16. Good for you. . .this woman sounds like she doesn't deserve
to represent her own poodle. These are exactly the kind of arrogant, naturally corrupt legislators that need to be permanently driven out of power in this nation.

I love the way she wants to close the discussion of the faked intelligence by invoking the faked election.

18. The other times I wrote about Iraq I got a long letter detailing all
the great things we've done there - got rid of the rape rooms, got rid of the torture etc. You can see why it's down to "the people voted for it" now.

21. Yep. They have no leg left to stand on. And, they are hating that.
If the Democrats would get behind election reform with any vigor, the Thuggery would have to pack up and leave or declare the end of the Republic.
