Dan Brown Of The DaVinci Code Wrote An Interesting Novel About The NSA
It's titled "Digital Fortress." He published it in 1998. Part of why it's interesting is that it indicates what the NSA has been up to for quite a while, and it shows some of the issues involved. The jist of the story is that the NSA has computing power, software and other resources far beyond what most people can comprehend... and that it hasn't wanted the public to know about it.

A central issue he examines in the novel is the conflict between the public's right to privacy, and the government's efforts to track bad guys. In short, the government has no interest whatsoever in anyone's right to privacy.

Digital Fortress is what my wife calls an "airplane book." She bought it at an airport bookstore to read on the plane.

1. Yeah, I'd agree with that!
Easy to read and captivating page-turner and strangely relevant these days.
Happy New Year!

5. a fun book
he does quite a bit of homework for his books. But it is always hard to spot where the true info ends and literary license takes over in this one.
