Health Care and insurance fraud (against the consumer) rant
Edited on Thu Jan-19-06 07:58 AM by DaveTheWave
Ten years ago it only cost me $27 a week to insure my entire family which was a wife and two children. Today, even with the kids all grown up, just for me and my wife alone health insurance is $120 a week (kids grown-up and gone) and on top of that we pay literally $150 a month more with the higher co-pays and the ever increasing list of things that the insurance companies won't pay for.
I paid over $19k in taxes last year and will probably have to pay more this year as I'm only a middle-class citizen but instead of my tax dollars going to good use, like an investment in healthy American families it goes to government pork or for Bush to play toy soldiers in Iraq instead.

For more info. see Citizens Against Government Waste: http://www.cagw.org

Be advised that they do scrutinize both sides (and sometimes criticize some, (keyword), some, not all social programs) so if you are the type that thinks our side can do no wrong ever, I'd advise you not to visit the website as your blood pressure might go up and with no available health care since my $19k went to build an indoor rain forest in Iowa and to help subsidize farmers, you'd be out of luck if you needed immediate medical assistance.
