WJ is going to be very fun in a few minutes. |

Defender of the porn industry is coming up... should be a wingnut magnet.
"You're all sick! ...and please don't look under my bed where I have a stack of magazines..."

2. Rep Shadegg R-Arizona just got a VERY scared look in his eye |
|
when an independant caller (who usually votes Republican) who is a Vet stated that he was sick of who people are smearing Murtha, Kerry, McCain and Cleland by trying to attack their service records.
He recovered quickly, but his initial response sounded shaky (his voice). This could be a wedge issue for Democrats. A real wedge issue that speaks to the heartland. Those purple band-aids could come back to haunt them if the Democrats learn how to properly make hay.

4. The Democrats need to use the pictures of the purple band-aids |
|
They need the video and pictures of the wingnuts wearing purple band-aids at the repub convention and laughing plastered in every campaign commercial. Who 'Supports the Troops', exactly? :eyes:

18. That should have been when MEDIA worked to expose that tactic. They chose |
|
to NOT give it further examination, but, instead, yukked it up along with the GOP.

That would make a great ad. And also show Murtha in his press conference talking about the soldier who wouldn't recieve a purple heart because he wasn't hurt in action (or something like that). And how Bush's 2006 budget plan cuts veterans.

I was wondering, if he felt so strongly, why he didn't speak up at the time. Hypocrite!

15. Shadegg pretended NOT to know about the Cleland, Kerry, Murtha smears |
|
and swiftboating. He totally sidestepped the issue and gave a non-comittal non-answer. I wish the callers could stay on the line and ask follow up questions. The caller, IMHO, was way too polite, but he is a Georgia military veteran and we southerners are usually polite! He should have given more specifics and also should have mentioned the smearing of McCain.
Max Cleland was my senator and prior to that was my Secretary of State here in GA. This is a personal issue for me. Saxby "Sack of Shit" Chambliss, who infamously compared Max Cleland to Hussein and Bin Laden, is now one of my senators thanks to Diebold and corrupt, dirty GOP tactics. :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr:

|
I can't hang over their shoulders every second they're online (they have a lot of research they do for school projects, very time-consuming), but I can see a list of sites they've visited. That works.

19. Absolutely - I am their mother, not their warden |
|
I have to try to teach them whats right and whats wrong, and let them live their lives. They are still of an age where I monitor them from a distance, and help them by explaining what is and isn't appropriate for someone their age when they wander too far from the campfire.
I have also had several conversations with them about respecting women (both my daughter and my son), and how porn doesn't represent real life, and they shouldn't expect it to. How average women shouldn't feel the need to or be expected to look like the caricatures of women that porn and the fashion industry promotes, but it is the right of adult women (and men) to do what they will with their bodies, and shouldn't be abused because of it.

Seriously FLDem5, your call was like a breath of fresh air. Some of the callers come off sounding so stupid I'm surprised they watch the show at all. After 2 hours of moronic sounding calls, I'm surprised the CSpan moderators don't just head off into the corner to weep. I know I would.
I've commented on your delivery, so I should also comment on your substance. Thank you for watching your own children, and not expecting the government to regulate what they are allowed to experience. My 2 sons are 27 & 29 now and there wasn't much they were able to get past us. I don't understand parents who don't seem to have enough faith in their own instincts and child-rearing skills to be able to monitor their children's viewing/surfing habits. It's not all that hard.
Things that need to be regulated: Popup porn, unsolicited porn, poor programming choices for the after school hours. Everything else should be left in the hand of the parents.

Why is it that people are ready to accept that what Bundy said about porn was true when he spent the previous twenty years lying about being a sociopathic serial killer? What a bunch of suckers.

Oh brother. The only thing they should be worried about in my opinion is child pornography. Other wise it's purely adults so who cares? As long as they have raitings and warnings on sites etc.

Under Clinton, the FBI's obscenity unit was re-tooled to only go after child pornography.
Bush -- and Ashcroft and Gonzoles have put the focus back on to entertainment made by and for consenting adults.
