Are they just making this shit up as they go along? (Pakistani airstrike)
First it was the #2 al-Qaeda guy. Then we "just missed him". Then it was "well, we killed several terrorists in the strike". Now the latest claim is that we "might" have killed al-Qaeda's chemical weapons expert. I wonder if this guy had a name plate that said "Head of Chemical Weapons Department". Maybe he even had his own parking place?

Are they just making this shit up as they go along? What a great strategy! Launch an airstrike every now and then, claim that some high-level tayuhrist was there, that we "might" have killed him. Then a few days later, claim that there were actually several terrorists killed in the attack, but the "main target" escaped. Bingo, there's your cycle!

Yes. This is one lengthy soap opera with way more violence.

3. It's a spin-off of their older strategy
Identify all the dead as "insurgents" - even the infants. Since the media isn't allowed to show us what is going on, words are everything.

Isn't it amazing how we can know exactly who we killed in Pakistan and know that we "just missed" Zawahiri, yet we couldn't know ahead of time that we had "just missed" him. :eyes:

Yes, they are making it up as they go along. It's semantics at this point. Media manipulation. And the media isn't exactly resisting the manipulation.

Last night on TV they showed some film clips but hardly anything that's convincing. How would one know?

And another thing: notice the language is couched in "might have?" An easy out for later. Well, we SAID "might have."

Seems to me like PR move to mitigate the damage after their latest debacle.

5. We have no way to measure its "truthiness" do we?
They can shop any number of cock and bull stories until they find one that satisfies the domestic media or until the domestic media simply turns away in boredom to cover some other story.

6. There is nothing noble in this kind of warfare.
I am pissed that we are doing this kind of warfare. As taxpayers we are a part of every innocent life taken.
America used to stand against thugs, now we have become corporate thugs. Ok, Mr. Bush put me on your list.

7. These guys spit up something like this every once in awhile . . .
When the heat gets too intense for our Dear Leader in DC. Did you notice the recent announcement that attacks by WMDs are "inevitable" and it's only a matter of time before the US gets whacked?

We're all gonna die! Please save me, Georgie!

What a bunch of thumb-fingered weenies.

9. all war is class war
The upper class repeats in to public-mind the "war", a reminder
to the lower classes that they are just pawns. That people
surrender their power to act to the upper classes, feeling momentarily
feeble in the face of the brutality of smart bomb summary justice.

When you take the "war" online with you, the psychological virus
spreads and we all reflect on our inability to control or affect
power, and knowing that our hearts stand for justice, accepting on
a moment to moment basis that injustice is the basis of lower class
life... that people learn to expect it.

All war is class war; propaganda is war; the war is against us
here now, look at all the "war" threads.

Just say "no" to war.

11. Bombing innocents once in a while
is their way to frighten the locals into dissociating themselves from the bad guys. Of course it doesn't work, just pisses em off more.
