Russ Feingold on Wisconsin Public Radio right now:
He doesn't think there will be a filibuster on alito, and he said he hasn't made up his mind about running for president, is flattered with the talk, but has NOT made up his mind yet. http://www.wpr.org/

1. Why does he think that?
Do they not have the 41 Senators or do they not have the "cajones"? SG

4. And, as we all know, a SC nominee is not a cause worth fighting
:sarcasm:.

I really wished somebody had the courage to start a filibuster. May be it would not get the 41 votes, but at least it would show that we want to fight on what matters.

6. No one said that.
I, too, wish they'd show more backbone.

But the tough fighting seems to be being done by a limited few, of which Feingold is one. More Dems need to get carbonated about these issues.

5. Dammit, I'm sick of this
"keep your powder dry", "don't fire till you see the whites of their eyes" rhetoric.

If this SCOTUS nomination doesn't count as one of the most crucial socio-political battles since the New Deal, I don't what would.

Anything else they may have in their political battle plan (that's presuming they have one) will be rendered useless once this ideologue gets on the SC.

 SG
