Tell Time to fire Joe Klein
email here:
letters@time.com

After reading his oped in Time, I have lost any shred of respect for him.

My letter-

Dear Mr Klein and Time,

Joe Klein, I respectfully request that you, and your merry band of traitorous DLC Democrats, kindly leave my party immediately. That means you Joe Lieberman, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden. You know who you are, you stink of corporate donations and a lust for power. It's time for the people who built the REAL Democratic Party to stand up and wrest control of it away from these Republican - lite DLC Bush apologists.

DLCers MUST BE PURGED AT ALL COSTS!!!!!

1. Nothing like using the word purge
to evoke a whiff of stalinism. Respectfully, (ok, about as respectful as your letter), I think a letter like this is in no way helpful. Don't like Time? Don't read it. Don't like certain politicians? Work and vote against them, but don't tell people they have to adhere to your political philosophy.

2. At all costs, eh?
Hmmmmmmmm

What if it cost $4,000,304.00, would you still support purging the DLCers?

Also is your definition of DLCer limited to actual members of the organization, or is it more expansive?

Bryant

5. It's poetry
The meaning remains elusive, but it's clear that this particular work expresses disdain for someone or something.

6. I clicked on your link
and I didn't see anything about the DLC specifically, but your post about Nelson is funny. I don't feel sorry for him, either.

for $4m plus change? probably.....

The bankruptcy bill yes votes by Dems illustrate the anti-worker bias in our party, including my own Senator Stebenow and our beloved Harry Reid. I guess I equated DLCers with corporate whores. I know that there are some corporate whores who aren't DLCers, and vice versa.

We need more candidates like Congressman Bernie Sanders (I-VT)for the exclusive club known as the US Senate.

Now, I understand that some or maybe even most of these folks are forced into this prostitution, but that doesn't make it right.

Also, I'm not opposed to corporations voicing their opinions, by donating and lobbying our representatives, with only ONE stipulation:

Corporations should not be any more powerful than the collective power their employees wield with their individual votes and contributions. If a certain piece of legislation that would benefit a corporation or industry is in need of some support, the corporation/industry can try to convince their AMERICAN voting employees to call/write congress about the issue. If the issue benefits the corporation, it should also benefit the employee.

"Corporate Persons" should not be allowed to exercise such disproportional influence over OUR elected representatives by bypassing the traditional/ethical way of calling/writing letters/(non-bribing)lobbying. It's only fair.
