Surprise-- after ignoring Democratic speeches, CNN gives Bush more airtime
Edited on Thu Jan-19-06 10:15 AM by Armstead
After boling Gore's speech, Hillary's speech and yesterday's Democratic leadership speech into sound bites, CNN once again broadcasts one of Bush's campaign speechs in real time. (The "Golly the economy is dong great...All we need are more tax cuts for the rich").

It would be interesting if it were possible to measure how mmuch airtime they give Bush compared to hpw little civerage they gave to Clinton's speeches when he was president.

MSNBC, at least, is not covering it.

3. CNN is now controlled by Bush's Royal Saud buddies. They bought up a big
chunk of AOL.

Haven't you noticed the Kingdom ads being run on CNN to promote their presence in the US?

6. Yes...caught one of the "Kingdom Holdings" Ads yesterday...with patriotic
sounding music played very loudly. If only the average American knew.

They probably wouldn't care though. Not with sports stadiums named after Corporate Entities and McDonalds in their school cafeterias.

4. Hate to say this but CNN is now just another Fox....
...and has ceased becoming a real news network. Thus it's no longer worth watching anymore. Damn. This must gall Turner to no end.

7. What is CNN thinking?
They have now lost virtually all of their Dem/Liberal audience (thanks to pro-Bush coverage, 24/7), and their hiring of people like Beck and Bennett.

As for the Rep/Conservative audience they are now apparently aiming at, those people are already established FAUX viewers and aren't likely to switch.

If CNN is looking to get their market share down to .00001% of viewers, they're definitely on the right track.

8. Cnn has forgotten Freepers still believe them Liberal
and always will. Funny they've alienated the only audience they had by their squeamish behavior of being labeled as a "Liberal" network. So now they will have very little support. Them trying to pull in Beck is so desperate of them trying to draw fox viewers it's just pathetic.

Freepers believe anything critical of the King and his lords, is considered Liberal Media.

I guess they were not watching CNN when Clinton was being harassed over his penis and cigars!

I don't need a news organization to report rosy pictures about a President or try to appeal to a portion of popularity. I need them to report the truth, even if that truth is ugly and focused on a President I support! We all know if OUR boy or girl was sitting in office and had done half that shit King George has, he'd be out on his ass so fast his ears would blow in the breeze.

I just want something unbiased, I want the truth and honesty, not someone trying reaffirm my ideals. Truth I can handle blowing smoke up my ass, just makes me steamed.

9. My husband said something recently ...
... when we were talking about the news media, which I thought was BRILLIANT (okay, I'm a teeny-weeny bit biased):

"The news reporter who is on MY side is the news reporter who is on NOBODY'S SIDE."

10. It is brilliant
More then that, it's honest truth.

I guess I never considered news coverage would come to this. I know print is probably old fashioned, but I believe those are real journalists and news anchors are just full of shit and considered nothing more then "news personalities."

I know we have hacks in print media too but it seems more truth lies in print then broadcast.

11. Or to paraphrase Walter Cronkheit...
A media that is doing its job will make you mad sometimes make you happy at others.

Hos like CNN are trying to make one side happy all the time, while not caring whether the otehr side is mad or not.

12. That's EXACTLY how I feel. I always say I don't WANT a liberal newscast
Edited on Thu Jan-19-06 02:47 PM by blm
I just want hard news using facts only straight down the line.

Your husband's statement is pure poetry for these jaded ears.
