That's what Rove does: he puts on theatrical performances for the public. Politics to him is an arena on which he stages a show for entertainment, to keep the voters on edge, excited to experience the next perilous adventure. Public policy is off the stage. To him, there is nothing dramatic about bad schools, the uninsured, the underpaid, underemployed and unemployed, the skyrocketing debts, the precarious balance of payments.
The timing is just too convenient for the Bush administration. We've seen this perfect timing again and again. When will the public at large see through it. I just can't see the terrorists timing the releases of their videos this perfectly. If they were tuning in to our news cycles, you'd think they would release videos that draw attention to their plans when not much was going on here, not just when some Republican scandal was hitting the headlines.
