Can Hillary talk without reading from a script?
If this woman is, at some point, going to ask me to vote for her for president, I need to feel like she has her own thoughts and ideas. Her husband could do it, Kerry could do it, but Hillary seems like she can't speak without reading, which, along with the plastered picture-frame smile, makes her seem fake.

When she keeps looking down every two seconds it just doesn't seem sincere. Who wrote those words?

I do appreciate her attacking Rumsfeld... But I think she needs to polish her presentation. And just be herself and say what's on her mind.

also did you notice, she has about 3 sentences on each page of paper. how large does she need those letters to be?

1. She spoke for about 35 minutes in Orange County without notes

of any kind and she held the audience in the palm of her hands.

4. Very large type (18 font or more) isnormal for a speech. It makes it
easier to glance down quickly.

18. I think so.
The ability to think on your feet and talk off the cuff is kind of important if you want to be president.

The shrub can't do it, and look how we laugh at him.

6. No, I don't think she can speak w/o a script.
From what I understand, she freezes at impromptu questions about why we went into Iraq.

7. Yes, she can speak without a script. There are times when you use one...
on touchy subjects. She's touchy on questions on the war? That doesn't mean she can't speak without a script. She'd be better off doing so more often. She's a better extemporaneous speaker than reader.

8. Use one on touchy subjects?
Something as important as the Iraq war and no canned speech prepared in advance?

We are looking for answers from our leaders.

Not having a speech prepared (if that's what it takes) is inexcusable.

13. In foreign affairs and diplomacy, it's standard practice.
The stakes are higher and more should do it.

9. Yes.
I am not going to vote for Hillary to be my president; I have issues with her, and have had those issues since 1990 or so.

That said, I recognize that she is a very intelligent woman, and I think her speaking skills are just fine. Better than Kerry's, imo. My objections have nothing to do with her intelligence or abililty to communicate, but with some of her choices.

12. The comic genius, David Letterman reads from monitors
I've seen Senator Clinton make many speeches which are pretty brilliant, without faltering. Even if she
does have monitors or notes, this would not be an excuse for me not to vote for her.
