Cool. Somebody finally compiled a comprehensive list!

All the bullshitler crimes against the Constitution in one place. 372 pages worth. Got to love that John Conyers!

"Muckraker’s Justin Rood spoke with Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.), the ranking Dem on the committee, about the report and its purpose."

"We said, ‘look, we’ll do it ourselves’" — compile a document that lists every instance of alleged wrongdoing by the Bush administration’s handling of intelligence, the war in Iraq, and retaliation against those who tried to speak out about it. "Every sentence, every allegation, every accusation that we have in this 371-page report has a citation or a reference to it of where we got it," Conyers explained, with a hint of pride at his staff’s work.

"We’re not trying to play Department of Justice or prosecutor. We’re trying to put on the record before too much other history blurs this," Conyers told me. " making sure that what we see as at least a couple dozen violations of federal statute do not go unnoticed. . . . We’re trying to make sure that we have the fullest record of this, so that this won’t be the work of industrious historians ten years from now."

4. This link opens the entire report in one page:
http://www.house.gov/judiciary_democrats/iraqrept2/webfullreport.htm

I will make a .pdf copy and burn it on CDs.

Maybe we should send copies (of the booklet) to our local libraries too.

15. the report in .pdf file ....
You had a good idea about making it a .pdf file. I played around with my "Cute PDF Writer" and made a copy. The only thing I found wrong with it is the links don't work in the Chapters pages, so you just have to scroll or pick a page to jump to and look from there. I'll see if I can figure out how to make the links work and re-do it if I figure it out.

download the .pdf at http://www.offrampbums.com/downloads/conyers.pdf (right click the link and "save target as" if you want to download it, otherwise it'll just open in your browser). It's a 2.6 MB download ....

6. Save this bad boy to every computer you have
access to...I have three laptops and two external hard drives and this is going on every one of them.

Save this before the Bush government or the DLC orders it taken off the net as aiding and abetting "terrorists."

11. Incredible man, Conyers! He just keeps going on, and doing what
government SHOULD BE DOING, investigating wrongdoing, holding hearings, letting people and experts have a forum, amassing evidence, issuing reports, on major events/issues.

Whether the fascists ignore him or revile him, whether they put his hearings in tiny basement rooms, and deny him subpoena power, or what-all they get up to, to stop him, he just keeps DOING GOOD GOVERNMENT, despite the rubble of democracy all around him.

The Conyers election 2004 report was definitive. So, I'm sure, is this.

It's amazing what one honest man in government can do. And if we still have democracy when all this is over, it will be in no small part because John Conyers kept acting AS IF WE DID! His big shoulders pushing on the closed door kept it OPEN just a crack, to let the people IN--and large chunks of the truth.

Such courage! Such heart! Kudos and laurel wreaths to you, Mr. Conyers!

combined and you couldn't come up with a list like this.

For God's sake, let the hearings begin November 3rd.

16. Started reading and it is completely overwhelming. Wonder
if it will be available in printed form? I would love to have a few copies to give some of the "Head Buried Up One's Ass" crowd. I have downloaded it to my hard drive but was hoping it is available for purchase - it would be cheaper for me to buy than to spend all those ink cartridges to print it up myself (great printer, expensive cartridges). Anybody know if this available in book form anywhere?

21. i hate to nitpick such an important document...
...and i think conyers is a great example for the rest of congress, but...

in the very first paragraph he states that the bcci investigation was handled well by congress. from what i've read that investigation was cut well short of completion and the spider web/rat's nest of connections was never completely unravelled and the trail leads right up to 9/11.

i surely hope this is not the standard he is setting for investigation of this NEW round of bushco/bfee crimes.

34. It's about time somebody did
Only thing is, at the end of the Bushies rule will the
Democrats spend all their time investigating what Bush did.
Don't get me wrong I believe very strongly that we need to
investigate but I believe what we need to do is appoint a
special prosecutor and give him $50 million and let him go at
it. The Democratic Senate and House can then spend the time
fixing the things that are broken and getting new ideas off
the ground. Then when the prosecutor is ready then we pull GW
off the pedestal of retirement and take away his pensions.

Edited on Sat Aug-05-06 11:23 PM by JudyM
"I would like to thank the “blogosphere” for its myriad and invaluable contributions to my and my staff. Absent the assistance of “blogs” and other Internet-based media, it would have been impossible to assemble all of the information, sources and other materials necessary to the preparation of this Report. Whereas the so-called “mainstream media” has frequently been willing to look past the abuses of the Bush Administration, the blogosophere has proven to be a new and important bulwark of our Nation’s first amendment freedoms." Way to go, DUers!
