Army JAG Officer leading the Swift Boat smear against Congressman John Murtha in PA is a high paid Conservative campus speaker asking $1000 on the lecture circuit.

Lt. Col. Craig Minnick is a glorified JAG officer in PA selling himself as an Iraq Veteran yet Minnick has been nowhere near combat as his bio below clearly shows.

In fact, the TRUTH be told Colonel Minnick IS A LAWYER, makes a profit of a thousand bucks each speaking engagement indoctrinating “young Republicans” who preach a strong National Defense, yet are Chicken Hawks who have no intention of joining the Armed Forces. Otherwords THEY are for a Strong National Defesne as long as someone else is doing the DEFENDING. This is what Minnick encourages instead of recruiting more "boots on the ground" for the Army and Marine corps to provide relief for our exhausted troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Lieutenant Colonel Craig Minnick, United States Army Reserves, Bronze Star recipient Lt Col Craig Minnick has served as the Command Judge Advocate (senior legal advisor) for the 220th Military Police Brigade since November 2002 and deployed in that position in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from February 2003 to February 2004. Irey was her usual, confident self, and despite Alan Colmes best efforts to divert the conversation away from Murtha, Diana Irey stayed on message and cut Colmes to shreds.

Without disrespecting the service of a fellow veteran, I want to express my strongest possible dismay with the attacks Craig MINNICK, John O’NEILL, and others make on Representative MURTHA, Senator KERRY, and other patriotic Americans.

Col. MINNICK on a recent MSNBC program displayed the usual Rightwing non-stop motor mouthing. Luckily, Tucker CARLSON, no slouch himself, kept him in check, but HANNITY and O’REILLY will compensate for sure in days and years to come.

Some questions:

MINNICK collects “indoctrination” fees for college Republicans, “only” $1000-3000 (chump change for wing nuts). That is, he spends his time yawing blarney to military age persons who claim to want a strong defense yet who are not willing to put their own lives at risk. Why doesn’t Minnick RECRUIT them instead of doing all of that mutual yawing?

Why doesn’t he funnel his energies into targeting the actual enemies of democracy instead of our elected civilian officials who have oversight responsibilities of the appropriateness and effectiveness of our use of the military--AND how the military comports itself?

I am maximally against the politicization of military service. It was revolting to see six Medal of Honor winners, WITH THEIR MEDALS, standing on a Republican stage during the Florida voting fiasco of 2000. Why doesn’t a legal professional like MINNICK understand the fundamental concepts of our form of government, instead practicing the usual military baiting and propaganda masquerading as “patriotism“?

I would like more details about MINNICK’s earning the Bronze Star since the bios are crammed only with the administrative, support side of his service. It’s odd that they aren’t being exploited since the rest of his military experience is.

And just a sidebar: I was a caller to a radio talkshow who singlehandedly ran O’NEILL off the air. I prefaced with my non-heroic Vietnam service, to which he said, “Oh, you guys on (those units) were great!” Then I said that the Purple Heart criteria range all the way from ONE DROP of blood shed under combat conditions to death, such that it was disgraceful and unconscionable for him to be questioning KERRY’s documented performance, well within the criteria. So O’NEILL suddenly told the radio host he had to go--IMMEDIATELY.

8. Oh, ok, I just misread part of your post. I have issues when ppl. try to

dismiss a person's service in Iraq just because they may not have served on the "front lines".

I had that happen to me several times with attacks by RW nuts about my husband's service in Iraq not being as valid because he was in ammunition transportation and not, according to those idiots, on the "front lines." Of course, that just goes to show how really stupid they are because with the situation in Iraq, Ammunition trans, is very dangerous. He was actually shot at 11 times and almost blown up a couple of times. But I would always get the "gear in the rear" crap from some ppl. and it used to really piss me off.

I understand what you are saying about this guy though. I wonder if he was even actually in Iraq or was he in Kuwait or Qatar.

And it never ceases to amaze me how many of these ADORE Shrub, who not only used the Guard to get out of Vietnam but then turned around and deserted from THERE. Just yesterday Shrub had a photo op at the border, and he was surrounded by uniforms-----Border Patrol, National Guard, and law enforcement---a mostly male situation. You never saw such testosterone, homoerotic yukking it up, big handslapping, and rib poking going on---not to mention the boisterous laughing, all this while people are being blown to bits. The whole thing being led by a drug store cowboy who is afraid of horses. And Shrub clowning around with the reporters? Disgusting.
