4. It's appalling that we've had our horizons so foreshortened ...

... that we should aspire to something so limited as that others should merely read this. It's appalling to me that Ron should even see the need to write it. We are a truly corrupt and 'decadent' People when we can so easily say "out of sight and out of mind" to those who have borne the highest prices for our collective follies ... and yet we OBSESS about some poor pregnant girl we've never met who might choose an abortion or OBSESS that two people of the same gender who we've never even seen should have the temerity to be in love with one another or OBSESS that someone might have the temerity to actually smoke a cigarette upwind of us!! Just how can we so easily say "out of sight and out of mind" to our human sacrifices and not be able to turn the channel on what we might regard as 'obscene'? Just what obscenities are more deserving of our time and attention? How can anyone who spews vitriol about some mythical "war on Christmas" and invests no effort whatsoever in promulgating fulsome collective support for such victims of our wars be regarded as even close to sane, let alone occupy a part of our public bandwidth?
