Syrian foreign minister: Qaa village attack was intentional

Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Moallem said that Israel's attack near the Lebanese village of Qaa, in which dozens of civilians were killed, was intentional. He defined the attack as "the massacre committed by Israel in Qaa."

On Friday, Lebanese sources reported that 33 farmers were killed and dozens were injured in an Israel Air Force strike on an agricultural farm near the village of Qaa, east of the Bekaa Valley, near the Syrian border. Israel Defense Forces officials said that the army struck two buildings where weapons were hidden. (AFP)

DAMASCUS: The Syrian Foreign Ministry sent identical letters of protest on Saturday to the UN Security Council and to Secretary-General Kofi Annan.

"The failure of the Security Council to stop Israel's state terrorism and its war crimes against Lebanon is organised annihilation of the UN charter and international law," the letter said.

Information Minister Mohsen Bilal told Syrian Television: "This new massacre is a racist, fascist and terrorist act committed with American weapons.

"These people were trying to earn their daily living. Israeli aggression is a threat to the region and to world peace," the minister said.

I don't put any part in this on a pedestal. Thanks for the personal attack, though.

7. fair enough Jack.
It would be more helpful if you had something substanitive to add, rather than the inappropriate nitpicking.

Again, the Syrian response IS news, whether it is a credible statement or not.

4. It's true
sad that we have to hear it from a dictator.

It sounds just like N. Korea criticizing our Iraq occupation. We are just as wrong there as Israel is in Lebanon. That remains the fact, no matter who points out the obvious.
