"Why, no one could have POSSIBLY predicted that! So now, we can cut and run with honor before the war slams us in the '08 elections"
Me, using Nelson voice from The Simpsons: "Ha Ha!"

Scenario: one or both houses are democratic controlled after the 06 election. Funding for Iraq war comes with requirement for withdrawal of US forces. Forces withdrawn in dramatic Fall Of Baghdad staged for TV event, complete with helicopters and tearful pleadings by Ahmed Chalabi types and associates for seats on the bus. Ragtag Iraqi army quickly folds and resumes normal operations as sunni, shiite, and kurdish militias.
Weak willed and heterosexually challenged Democrats are blamed for allowing Iraq to fall and not cracking down on gay marriage. Oil prices, now over $5.00 at the pump are a direct consequence of cut'n'run Democrats who also do not attend the right sort of churches, if they go to church at all, and are trying to encourage your teenage daughter to have lots of abortions while watching gay porn on tv. Belly shirts.
Bipartisan support for Israel, now into its second year of war in Syria, continues to be nearly unanimous.
