The Betrayal of Joe Lieberman - Let us count the ways...
(I saw this link posted in another thread and I believe it has information that should be made available to all potential Lamont voters or Lieberman voters)

http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/08/03/greenfield.lieberman/

<snip>
But it's important to remember that Lieberman's problems with Democratic constituencies go back further. He has often taken positions at odds with his party's base. For instance, he supported vouchers for public school students so they might attend other schools -- a position public school teachers' unions strongly oppose. This year, both Connecticut teachers' unions have endorsed Lamont.

In the past, Lieberman has questioned the value of affirmative action. Ten years ago, he said: "Affirmative action is dividing us in ways its creators could never have intended."

It's not exactly a coincidence that prominent African-American politician Rep. Maxine Waters of California and the Rev. Al Sharpton are supporting Lamont.

And last year, he supported federal intervention in the case of Terri Schiavo, a brain-damaged woman at the center of a long legal battle over whether she could be taken off life support, thus aligning himself on that issue with religious conservatives. Schiavo's husband is campaigning for Lamont, and those Democrats generally unhappy with the power of the "Religious Right" gained another reason to oppose the incumbent.
===============================

Also, we might add another very important issue to the list above. MoJo has suggested he would support the "private accounts" for Social Security. He may as well come into your house and take a shit on your kitchen table.

2. Signs of life
Getting rid of Lieberman will be the first signs of life from the Dems in about 6 years.

3. Exactly and Russert didn't mention any of these reasons when he

grilled Lanny Davis and Jim Dean this a.m. on MTP. Russert made it all about the war...Lanny Davis raved on and on about how "progressive" Lieberman has been in his voting record.

The "other points" were not mentioned. Russert's whole emphasis was to give Davis a Forum to beat up on Democrats who support Lamont and to make Lamont seem a Republican and Dems who support him traitors. Meaning we Grassroots who have legit complaints about Lieberman...are illigitimate to the Dem Party Lanny Davis is a member of.

6. Anyone who has watched Greenfield for years on CNN
as I have, knows that he is a rightwing shill, who cloaks his extremely timid opinions in middle of the road language. Yes, before I get flamed, he is a Democrat. But he's the kind of democrat that he is describing in his article, a Dem of the tweety or lieberman mold. His facts are accurate, but the point of his article is that the base of the Democratic party will not demand an anti-war candidate. It's a shill for Hill.
